A30 Trunk Road, Launceston - Temporary Restriction And Prohibition of Traffic For Maintenance Works
What is happening?

The A30 Trunk Road (Launceston) (Temporary Restriction And Prohibition Of Traffic) Order 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (a) has made an Order on the A30 trunk road in the Counties of Devon and Cornwall to allow resurfacing and associated maintenance works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to take place overnight (20.00 to 06.00) commencing on or after 4 November 2024 and be completed by 27 January 2025.
The effect of the Order will be :
(a) to impose a mandatory 50 mph speed limit on A30 westbound :
(i) from 441 metres east of the westbound entry slip road at Tavistock Road Junction to 50 metres west of the westbound exit slip road at Trebursye Junction;
(ii) from 100 metres east of the westbound entry slip road at Kennards House Junction to 200 metres west of the westbound switchback slip road at Polyphant Junction
(b) to impose a mandatory 10 mph speed limit on the length of the A30 given at (a) above whilst convoy working is taking place.
(c) authorise the overnight (20.00 to 06.00) closure of.
(i) the A30 westbound from Liftondown Junction to Pennygillam Junction;
(ii) the A30 westbound from Trebursye Junction to Kennards House Junction;
(iii) the westbound entry slip road at Liftondown Junction;
(iv) the westbound entry slip road at Tavistock Road Junction;
(v) the westbound entry and exit slip roads at Pennygillam Junction;
(vi) the westbound exit slip road at Trebursye Junction;
(vii) the westbound entry and exit slip roads at Kennards House Junction;
(viii) the eastbound and westbound switchback slip roads at Polyphant Junction
(ix) the laybys adjacent to the length of the A30 given at (c) above.
During the closures, traffic will be diverted via junctions of the A30 and local roads.
Access to and from premises that are accessible from and only from the A30 will be maintained during the works.
The closures (which will not apply to emergency services, traffic officer or works vehicles) speed limits, and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works.
The Order will come into force on 2 November 2024 and have a maximum duration of 18 months.
