CROYDON COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT. 1984. SECTION 14 AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
KEMBLE ROAD. LIMES AVENUE & LYNWOOD GARDENS. CROYDON TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC & PARKING
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate water main replacement works on behalf of Thames Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic and parking in Kemble Road, Limes Avenue and Lynwood Gardens, Croydon.
2. Whilst the said work is taking place the roads will be closed as detailed below and parking will be suspended as necessary.
- Kemble Road - closed for approximately two months between its junction with Vicarage Road and the eastern boundary of No. 1 Kemble Road.
- Limes Avenue - closed for approximately one month in two phases between its junctions with Purley Way and Wandle Side.
- Lynwood Gardens - closed for approximately three months in three phases covering the entire length of the road.
3. During the closures the alternative routes for traffic will be as detailed below. Access to properties for residents will be maintained via trench ramps.
- Kemble Road - Via Vicarage Road, Siddons Road and vice versa.
- Lynwood Gardens - No diversion as cul-de-sac.
- Limes Avenue - Via Purley Way, Lodge Avenue, Wandle Side and vice versa.
4. The Order will come into operation on 14 November 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum duration of 18 months to be reintroduced if further work is required.
5. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) a vehicle being used to carry out the said work.
(b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS MANOR ROAD. SOUTH NORWOOD TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC
1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that to facilitate sewer cleaning works, they intend to make an order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic movements in Manor Road.
2. Whilst the said works are taking place Manor Road will be closed at its junction with Portland Road.
3. During the closure the alternative routes for diverted traffic will be as detailed below and appropriately signposted.
- Westbound traffic - via Lower Addiscombe Road, Shirley Road, Addiscombe Road, Chepstow Road, Fairfield Road, Barclay Road, Park Lane, Croydon Flyover, Old Town, Roman Way, Mitcham Road, Sumner Road, St James's Road, Windmill Road, Whitehorse Road, Whitehorse Lane, and South Norwood Hill.
- Eastbound traffic - via Long Lane, Croydon Road, Elmers End Road, Penge Road, and High Street.
- Eastbound/westbound HGVs - via Portland Road, High Street, Penge Road, and Sunnybank.
4. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:
(a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said work.
(b) any vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
(c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.
5. The Order will come into operation on 20 November 2024, and it is anticipated that the work will be carried out overnight from 10pm on 20 November to 5.30am on 21 November 2024. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibitions will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
