What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures in B377 Feltham Road, Ashford

Notice is hereby given that Surrey County Council, in exercise of their powers under Section 90(A) to (I) inclusive of the Highways Act 1980, propose to introduce a series of physical measures to improve safety and reduce vehicle speeds in B377 Feltham Road, Ashford as follows:-

A) Set of two Speed Cushions. The proposed cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the centre of the eastbound cushion to be located 4.0m west of property boundary between Nos. 61 and 63 Feltham Road. The centre of the westbound cushion to be located 4.1m west of the property boundary between Nos. 62 and 64 Feltham Road.

B) Set of three Speed Cushions. The outer cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the middle cushion is to be 1.0m in width. The centre of the proposed cushions to be located 4.4m west of the property boundary between Nos. 84 and 70 Feltham Road.

C) i Set of two Speed Cushions. The proposed cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the centre of cushions to be located 0.35m west of the property boundary between Nos. 102 and 104 Feltham Road.

ii A Raised Road Table (A). The proposed table is to be 7.6m in width, the centre of the flat top road table to be located 3.2m east of the property boundary between Nos. 122 and 124 Feltham Road. Note – the existing zebra crossing will be raised and reinstated on top of the table.

D) Set of two Speed Cushions. The proposed cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the centre of the cushions to be located 5.35m west of the property boundary between Nos. 138 and 138a Feltham Road.

E) Set of two Speed Cushions. The proposed cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the centre of the cushions to be located 3.2m east of the property boundary between Nos. 149 and 149a Feltham Road.

F) Set of two Speed Cushions. The proposed cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the centre of the cushions to be located 1.55m west of the property boundary between Nos. 168 and 170 Feltham Road.

G) i Set of two Speed Cushions. The proposed cushions are to be 1.7m in width, the centre of the cushions to be located 1.5m west of the property boundary between Nos. 212 and 214 Feltham Road.

ii A Raised Table (B). The proposed table is to be 6.2m in width. The north-eastern edge of the flat top road table to be located 4.0m south-west from the centre of existing lamp column N4 Feltham Road.

The proposed speed cushions will each be 75mm in height, 3.5m in length, the main ramps will be 0.6m in length with a gradient of 1:8, and the side ramps will be 0.3m in length with a gradient of 1:4. The proposed 10.5m flat-top road tables will extend across the full width of the carriageway, be 75mm in height, with ramps to have a 1 in 20 gradient (1.5m).

Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, Monday to Friday from 10am until 4pm; 2. Ashford Library, Church Road, Ashford, Middlesex TW15 2XB, Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30am until 5pm. If you wish to object to or make representations relating to any aspect of the above proposals, including any in support, you must send them in writing, stating the grounds on which they are made either by a) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; or b) to the undersigned, at Traffic Regulation Orders Team, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by 29 November 2024.
