What is happening?
KIRKLEES COUNCIL (TRAFFIC REGULATION)
(CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROVIDING ONSTREET PARKING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS AND MIGRATION TO A ‘MAP-BASED’ FORMAT) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO. 13) ORDER 2024 WHITEHALL ROAD WEST, BIRKENSHAW
The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects lengths of road in the Birkenshaw area of the Kirklees district, will be to amend the Kirklees Council (Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 so as to:
• Prohibit the waiting at any time on a length of Whitehall Road West, Birkenshaw
REASON: Planning permission has been granted for alterations to the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Headquarters at Oakroyd Hall, Birkenshaw. (Planning Ref 2022/92681). As part of this planning permission, it is necessary to manage on-street parking within the vicinity of the site.
This Traffic Regulation Order is proposed to remove any on street parking on the north-western side of Whitehall Road West, Birkenshaw. It is believed these proposals will improve the safety and amenities in the area through which this roads run.
It is intended that these proposals will reduce the risk of parking affecting access.
