Whiteleys Lane - Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic to Allow Ducting Works as Part of New Service Connection
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (U1043 WHITELEYS LANE, ORMSKIRK, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of U1043 Whiteleys Lane, Ormskirk from C117 Scarth Hill Lane, Ormskirk to U1040 Wellfield Lane, Westhead.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 0930 hours and 1530 hours from Thursday 14th November 2024 until Friday 15th November 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:- C117 Scarth Hill Lane, Ormskirk – A570 Ormskirk Road, Clock House – C129 Lathom Road, Bickerstaffe – B5240 Lyelake Lane, Lathom – A577 Wigan Road, Lathom – U4195 Whiteleys Lane, Westhead and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow ducting works as part of new service connection to be carried out by Sunbelt Rentals UK on behalf of BT.
