The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) proposes to make
an Order entitled The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’
Vehicles) (Amendment No. 6) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024.
The Order will create parking places with unlimited waiting
at Ballygawley: Main Street in front of No. 32 (Vivo); Belfast:
Ballynafoy Close in a lay-by in front of No. 25, Ballysillan
Drive in front of No. 33, Hollycroft Avenue in front of No.
40 and Locksley Gardens in front of No. 56; Crossmaglen:
Lismore Park in a parking area in front of No. 10; Derry/
Londonderry: Baldrick Crescent in front of No. 5, Barry
Street in front of No. 1, Lone Moor Road in front of No. 49
Elmwood Terrace and Maybrook Park in front of No. 17;
Dungannon: Beech Valley in front of No. 36 Clare Terrace;
Lisnaskea: Drumhaw Park in a parking area to the west of
a walkway to Nos. 7-10; Newry: Barcroft Park in front of No.
123, Catherine Street in front of No. 27, O’Neill Avenue in
front of No. 13 and Third Avenue in front of No. 21; Strabane:
Beechmount Avenue in front of No. 7.
All parking places are for the use of disabled persons’
vehicles only.
The Order will remove a parking place with unlimited waiting
at Larne: Glenarm Road in front of No. 44.

Parking Places – Disabled
Persons’ Vehicles
The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory
Rule entitled “The Parking Places (Disabled Persons’
Vehicles) (Amendment No. 4) Order (Northern Ireland)
2024”, (S.R. 2024 No. 179) which comes into operation on
6 November 2024.
The Rule will create parking places with unlimited waiting in
Ballymena, Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Irvinestown, Larne
and Magherafelt and remove parking places with unlimited
waiting in Belfast, Derry/Londonderry and Irvinestown. The
Rule will also create a parking place with limited waiting
Monday to Friday 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with waiting
limited to 1 hour with no return to a parking place for 1
hour at Derry/Londonderry and insert a definition for the
City of Londonderry when referring to Derry/Londonderry
in the Parking Places (Disabled Persons’ Vehicles) Order
(Northern Ireland) Order 2016.

Parking & Waiting
Restrictions – Belfast
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has made a Statutory
Rule entitled “The Parking and Waiting Restrictions (Belfast)
(Amendment) Order (Northern Ireland) 2024” (S.R. 2024 No.
180) which comes into operation on 6 November 2024.
The Rule will prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (loading
and unloading permitted) on lengths of Belmont Church
Road, College Green Mews, Dunville Street, Sorella Street
and Suffolk Road, Belfast. It will also prohibit vehicles waiting
between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive
(loading and unloading permitted) on lengths of Dunville
Street, Belfast. Vehicles are excepted from the prohibitions
in certain circumstances.

6 November 2024.
The Rule will create parking places with unlimited waiting
in Ballyronan, Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Downpatrick,
Dromore, County Tyrone, Irvinestown, Loughbrickland,
Newcastle, Newry, Newtownards, Sion Mills and
Warrenpoint and parking places with waiting limited to 2
hours Monday to Saturday between 8.00 am and 6.00 p.m.
with no return to a parking place for 1 hour at Belfast. The
Rule will also remove parking places with unlimited waiting
at Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, Downpatrick, Holywood,
Larne and Newtownards.
