What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(CHARLOTTE STREET JUNCTION WITH THOMAS STREET, SOUTH SHIELDS)
ORDER 2024

South Tyneside Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the Order will be to increase the extent of No waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time on Charlotte St east side and west side from its junction with Thomas St southwards for 20m and No waiting at any time on Thomas St north side from its junction with Franklin St eastwards for 53m. The order will also reduce the extent of Pay & Display Parking 8.00am-5.00pm Mon to Sun inc on Charlotte St west side from a point 20m south of the south
kerbline of Thomas St southwards for 49m; Charlotte Street east side from a point 20m south of the south kerbline of Thomas St southwards for 49m and Thomas St north side from a point 16m east of the east kerbline of William St eastwards for 24m.
Full details of these proposals are contained in the draft order which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between the hours of 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall at the address below. Alternatively you can request a copy of the documentation by emailing
lynne.sloan@southtyneside.gov.uk If you wish to raise an objection, express support or make any
other observations about these proposals, you must make them in writing to the Council’s Legal
Services Department at the address below or by using the same email address above by 20
November 2024. Any objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
