South Gloucestershire Council Definitive Map and Statement South Gloucestershire Council (Footpath OAN 35 at Harts House, Gloucester Road, Rudgeway) Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2024
The above Order made on 23 October 2024, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by deleting from them the footpath numbered OAN 35 on the Definitive Map for the former Thornbury Rural District which starts at its junction with public footpath OOL 73, at the field boundary and former parish boundary north of Harts House at Point A (grid reference ST 6167 8577), and runs in a south southeasterly direction towards Harts House, initially through a wooded area and then across an open grass area. After 129 metres it turns in a south-easterly direction for 25m then an east north-easterly direction for 34m and re-enters the wooded area to meet public footpath OAN 34 on a track at Point B (grid reference ST 6177 8565). The path has a total length of 188m and is shown by a bold continuous line marked A – B on the map contained in this order. This modification order will correct an error on the former Thornbury Rural District Definitive Map. The line numbered OAN 35 on the map will be deleted and the nearby un-numbered path, which matches the description for OAN 35 set out in the Definitive Statement, will be correctly numbered OAN 35. A copy of the order and the order map may be seen free of charge at the Yate One Stop Shop (next to the Leisure Centre), Kennedy Way, Yate during normal offices hours a during normal opening hours. Copies of the order and map may be bought at the undermentioned offices at the price of £6.50. You may also view the map relating to this notice on the Council’s website at www.southglos.gov.uk/consultation Any representation or objection relating to the order must be sent in writing to the Head of Legal, Governance and Democratic Services at the undermentioned address quoting reference L3/GMM/STOR/PT.8010 not later than 14 December 2024, and applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection. If no such representations or objections are duly made to the order, or if any so made are withdrawn, the South Gloucestershire District Council, instead of submitting the order to the Secretary of State may itself confirm the order. If the order is submitted to the Secretary of State for the Environment, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it.
South Gloucestershire Council (Footpath PSN 44 at Shortwood Road, Siston) Public Path Diversion and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2021
Notice is hereby given that the provisions of Article 2 of the above order made on 24 November 2021 and confirmed on 16 February 2022 have now been complied with. The order became operative from 23 October 2024.
(Various Footpaths, Chipping Sodbury) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon tree felling works. The order became operative from 4 November 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Church Lane which extends from Beacon Lane northwards for 350m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole testing works. The order will be operative from 28 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm. Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Guest Avenue which extends from Berkeley Way northwards for 20m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with sewer manhole cover repair works. The order will be operative from 27 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration. Alternative route: Emerson Way, Westerleigh Road, Blackhorse Road, Richmond Road, St James Street, Cossham Street, Pomphrey Hill, Johnson Road, Church Farm Road, Homeground and vice versa.
(Heath Road, Hanham) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles the entire length of Heath Road. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works.
The order will be operative from 27 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 8:30am to 3:30pm. Alternative route: Gays Road, Memorial Road and vice versa.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Itchington Road which extends from Station Lane northwards for 50m.This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon bridge inspection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 5 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Alternative route: Itchington Road, Stowell Hill Road, Tytherington Road, Gloucester Road, Itchington Road and vice versa.
(Swan Lane, Winterbourne) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Swan Lane which extends from Old Gloucester Road to High Lane. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with pole replacement works. The order became operative from 5 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm. Alternative route: Old Gloucester Road, Beacon Lane, High Street, Swan Lane (parts unaffected) and vice versa.
(North Road, Yate) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of North Road which extends from a point 220m south of Armstrong Way southwards for 40m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon railway bridge inspection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 4 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between 9:30am to 3:30pm. Alternative route: Armstrong Way, Churchward Road, B4059 Iron Acton Way, Yate Road, Stover Road, Badminton Road, North Road and vice versa.
(New Cheltenham Road, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of New Cheltenham Road which extends from Syston Way south westwards for 100 metres. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon sewer repair works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 4 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Syston Way.
(Filton Lane and Harry Stoke Road, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon Arena ducting works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order became operative from 4 November 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 weeks duration. Schedule: Filton Lane – that length which extends from A4174 Filton Road eastwards to its roundabout junction with Harry Stoke Road; Harry Stoke Road – that length which extends from its roundabout junction with Filton Lane to A4174 Filton Road. Alternative route: A4174 heading eastbound.
