Belsay Avenue - Temporary Prohitibion of driving order

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Tyneside Council intends to make an Order under
S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of road:- Belsay Ave, Sth Shields,
from its junction with Barbour Ave to outside number 3 Belsay Ave a distance of 53m. The
Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the
road, and in particular to enable South Tyneside Council to complete concrete bay renewal. The Order will come into force on 7/11/24. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 mths however it is anticipated that the prohibition will only be needed from 8/11/24 for 12 days. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the alternative route will be via Belsay Ave, Barbour Ave & vice versa.
