What is happening?

THE CITY OF SUNDERLAND (MELDON ROAD PROHIBITION OF WAITING) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Sunderland City Council gives notice that on 25th October 2024 it made an Order under Sections 1, 2, 4, 122 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, by virtue of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act. The Order which comes into effect on 29th October 2024 introduces no waiting at any time restrictions on Meldon Road in the following locations: (i) the east side from a point 17.9 metres north of the extended south-eastern highway boundary of St Luke Road, to its southern extent; (ii) the east side from a point 44.1 metres north of the extended south-eastern highway boundary of St Luke Road, to its northern extent; and (iii) the west side entire length. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order may be inspected during normal opening hours at City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland SR1 3AA, until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which the Order is made. An electronic copy of the documents can also be obtained by emailing: statutoryorders@sunderland.gov.uk. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any requirement of the Act or of any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with that person may within six weeks from the date on which the Order was made apply for the purpose to the High Court.
