TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDERS 2024 (NORWICH) Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984
Norfolk County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, hereby give notice that:
(i) THEY PROPOSE TO MAKE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
GRANT STREET - from 30m south of its junction with Speke Street for 50m southwards to facilitate stop tap replacement works. Traffic over the Road shall be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload from 8th to 10th November 2024 (may continue until 20th December 2024). Alternative route is via: N/A. PEMBROKE ROAD - from its junction with Parker Road for 6m southwards and 6m northwards to facilitate Anglian Water new connection works from 4th to 6th November 2024 (may continue until 18th December 2024). Alternative route is via: Pembroke Road, Avenue Road, Park Lane, Denbigh Road.
(ii) THEY HAVE MADE Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders in respect of the following roads:
BLUEBELL ROAD - from 20m northwest of its junction with Norvic Drive for 20m south-eastwards to facilitate Norfolk County Council defected reinstatement repairs works from 28th to 30th October 2024 (may continue until 11th December 2024). Alternative route is via: Southbound Diversion - South Park Avenue Colman Road, Newmarket Road, Eaton Street Bluebell Road; Northbound Diversion - Newmarket Road, Colman Road, South Park Avenue.
CECIL ROAD - from its junction with Trafford Road for 40m westwards to facilitate Cadent gas connection works from 28th October to 1st November 2024 (may continue until 13th December 2024). Alternative route is via: Cecil Road, Hall Road, Lakenham Road, Ipswich Road.
COLLEGE ROAD - from its junction with Earlham Road for 50m southwards to facilitate Cadent gas works from 28th October to 8th November 2024 (may continue until 20th December 2024). Alternative route is via: Earlham Road, Recreation Road, The Avenues, College Road.
HELLESDON MILL LANE - 1) Hellesdon Mill Lane from its southern most junction with Hellesdon Road for 112m northwards and 2) Hellesdon Mill Lane from its northern most junction with Hellesdon Road for 136m westwards to facilitate Cadent gas main replacement works. The Order continues the provisions of the Notice
dated 21st October 2024 that the Road 1) and 2) will be temporarily closed. Road 1) will be closed from 26th October to 1st November 2024 (previously 21st to 25th October 2024), and Road 2) will be closed 4th
to 15th November, only while signs indicating the closure are in place (may continue until the 15th May 2025). Alternative route is via: 1) Hellesdon Road, Hellesdon Mill Lane and vice versa; 2) Hellesdon Road, Hellesdon Mill Lane and vice versa.
ST. SWITHIN'S ROAD (Cycle Lane) - from its junction with St. Within's Alley for 100m south westwards to facilitate works for a new water connection on the 28th October 2024 (may continue until 9th December 2024).Alternative route is via: N/A.
SURREY STREET - from its junction with Surrey Grove to its junction with Chapel Loke to facilitate elevated access to Norfolk Tower. The road will be temporarily closed, and traffic will be temporarily prohibited to park, stop, load, and/or unload between 10:00 and 17:00 on 27th October 2024 (may continue until 8th December 2024). Alternative route is via: Surrey Street, All Saints Green, Queens Road, St Stephens Roundabout, Queens Road, Surrey Street and vice versa Unless otherwise stated, the effect of these Orders will be to prohibit the use by vehicles of the named road(s)/ footpath(s). In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance. Where an Order is for a reason other than works it is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road/footpath. Anticipated dates are stated but the Orders may continue until the end date where necessary or required. The Orders are revoked on the end date or on the actual date of removal of the prohibition/restriction where earlier without further notice. If necessary, the restrictions can have a maximum duration of 18 months for vehicular highway or 6 months for non-vehicular highway. Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention. Full details on the closures/restrictions are available at https://one.net.work.
