What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

RAISED SPEED TABLE & SPEED CUSHIONS –

KIRKTHORPE LANE, KIRKTHORPE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Council of the City of Wakefield, in exercise of powers conferred by Section 90 of the Highways Act 1980, propose to introduce traffic calming measures along Kirkthorpe Lane, Kirkthorpe, Wakefield.

These proposals are part of the Local Transport Plan initiative to improve road safety for all road users in this area and includes speed cushions and speed table installations at the following locations along Kirkthorpe Lane, Kirkthorpe:

i.   Kirkthorpe Lane, 60 metres northeast of

Church-Hill House, 2 Cushions ii. Kirkthorpe Lane, 15 metres east from the junction of Celticshire Farm access,

2 Cushions iii. Kirkthorpe Lane, outside properties no

1/3 Woodland Avenue, 2 Cushions iv. Kirkthorpe Lane, outside properties no

1/3 Church Avenue, Speed Table

v. Kirkthorpe Lane, outside properties no 34/36,

2 Cushions vi. Kirkthorpe Lane, outside properties no 46/48,

Speed Table vii. Kirkthorpe Lane, outside property no 50,

2 Cushions viii. Kirkthorpe Lane, outside properties no 15/17/19, Speed Table

ix. Kirkthorpe Lane, 50 metres southeast of 21 Kirkthorpe Lane, 2 Cushions

The Speed Cushions will be elevated sections of carriageway, 3.5 metres in length, 1.6 metres wide with a height of 65mm above the existing carriageway level.

The Speed Table will be an elevated section of carriageway, 9 metres in length (featuring a 6 metre long plateau with 1.5 metre long approach ramps) with a height of 65mm above the existing carriageway level.
