What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make an Order to close temporarily to all users: Bridleway 43 (Part), Dilton Marsh: for a distance of approximately 25m either side of the railway bridge to enable bridge inspection and survey for essential repairs to network rail bridge. Alternative route for pedestrians Bridleway 43, Dilton Marsh (unaffected length) - Footpath 18, Dilton Marsh - Footpath 23, Westbury -Footpath 17, Westbury - Bridleway 17, Westbury - Bridleway 43, Dilton Marsh (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route for vehicles and cyclists via Bridleway 43, Dilton Marsh (unaffected length) - Fairwood Road - Tanyard Way - A3098 - Mane Way - Penleigh Road and vice versa. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 20 November 2024 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for 2 days. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) High Street (Part), Corsham; from its junction with Post Office Lane to its junction with Church Street to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out new gas service laying works and other associated works. Alternative route via High Street (unaffected length) -Priory Street - Newlands Road - Post Office Lane and vice versa. B) B3098 (Part), West Lavington and Market Lavington; from a point approximately 50m east of its junction with Holloway Rise for a distance of approximately 70m in an easterly direction to enable D.R Groundworks to carry out night closure to plane off and resurface existing carriageway following new traffic light crossing and access to new development. - C20 - A360 - B3098 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 18 November 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 01:00 for 4 nights. C) Lamberts Marsh (Part), Southwick; from its junction with A361 to its property known as Hangar House to enable Openreach to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via Lamberts Marsh (unaffected length) - Wesley Lane - A361 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 November 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: E) Little Court Lane (Part), Edington; from its property known as No.01 Little Court Lane to its property known as Ethadune to enable Openreach to carry out pole and associated works. Alternative route via Little Court Lane (unaffected length) - Court Lane - Little Court Lane (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 01 November 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 weekdays for 1 day. F) Kennet Way (Part), Trowbridge; from its roundabout junction with Canal Road to its entrance with Wickes to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via Kennet Way (unaffected length) - Avon Way - Canal Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 and the closure will be required until 04 November 2024. The closure is to be required 24 hours a day but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as it is necessitated by the works. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (A4 BATH ROAD AND CROSS KEYS ROAD, CORSHAM) (50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that on 16 October 2024 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be as follows: To amend The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Corsham) (Derestricted Roads) Order 2001 by revocation of the following A4 Chippenham Road - From a point 18m north-east of its junction with Hartham Lane for a distance of 470m in a north-easterly direction and to introduce a 50mph speed limit on the following lengths of road: A4 Bath Road, Corsham -from a point 22 metres north east of its junction with Hartham Lane, for a distance of 898 metres in a north easterly direction; Cross Keys Road - from its junction with A4 Bath Road for a distance of 75 metres in a southerly direction. A copy of the Order and plan may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Trowbridge during normal office hours. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained in the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024.
