What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
THANET AREA
B2052 George Hill Road, Broadstairs, CT10 3JY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2052 George Hill Road, Broadstairs, on or after 18th November 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Latimers, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via George Hill Road, Convent Road, Beacon Road, B2053 Westover Road, B2053 Northdown Hill, B2053 Green Lane, B2052 George Hill Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Cornwall Gardens, Margate, CT9 2PL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Cornwall Gardens, Margate, on or after 10th November 2024 for up to 13 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Northdown Road and Rutland Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Road, Devonshire Gardens, Rutland Avenue, Cornwall Gardens and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Crow Hill, Broadstairs, CT10 1HJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Crow Hill, Broadstairs, on or after 18th November 2024 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of B2052 Stone Road and Kings Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Kings Avenue, Knights Avenue, B2052 Stone Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Hawley Square, Margate, CT9 1NZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Hawley Square, Margate, on or after 19th November 2024 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite number 15 to number 16, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2055 Hawley Square, B2055 Churchfield Place, B2055 Churchfields, St Johns Street, St Johns Road and Addington Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Marshall Crescent, Fair Street & Wilkes Road, Broadstairs, CT10 2HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Marshall Crescent Fair Street & Wilkes Road, Broadstairs, on or after 4th November 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.
Marshall Crescent will be closed at the junction of Wilkes Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Marshall Crescent, Wilkes Road and vice versa.
Fair Street will be closed between the junctions of Wilkes Road and Grenville Way, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fair Street, Fairfield Road, Bromstone Road, Wilkes Road and vice versa.
Wilkes Road will be closed between the junctions of Fair Street and Marshall Crescent, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Fair Street, Vale Road, Gladstone Road, A255 Ramsgate Road, Bromstone Road, Wilkes Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Millers Lane, Monkton, CT12 4JN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Millers Lane, Monkton, on or after 5th November 2024 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of Monkton Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Monkton Street, Willetts Hill, A299 Monkton Roundabout, A253 Canterbury Road, Millers Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Rockstone Way, Ramsgate, CT12 6NE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Rockstone Way, Ramsgate, on or after 4th November 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed opposite number 47, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rockstone Way, Quetta Road, Stirling Way and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Station Approach, Birchington, CT7 9ER (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow bridge works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Station Approach, Birchington, on or after 7th November 2024 for up to 4 hours or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the railway bridge, between the hours of 09:30 and 13:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via Station Approach, Minnis Road, Station Road, A28 Canterbury Road, St Mildreds Road, Sea Road, Epple Bay Avenue, Epple Road, Cross Road, Epple Bay Road and Rossetti Road.
The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Rossetti Road, Epple Bay Road, Cross Road, Epple Road, Epple Bay Avenue, Sea Road, St Mildreds Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Station Road, Minnis Road, Sandles Road and Station Approach.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The Parade, Margate, CT9 1EZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Parade, Margate, on or after 4th November 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed outside Peters Fish Factory, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Market Street, Lombard Street, B2055 Hawley Street and King Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The School Close, Westgate On Sea, CT8 8QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The School Close, Westgate On Sea, on or after 4th November 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed at the junction of Rowena Road, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 only, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Victoria Road, Margate, CT9 1SZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow highway improvement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Victoria Road, Margate, on or after 4th November 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions of A255 High Street and Church Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Victoria Road, Addington Road, Union Crescent, B2055 Cecil Street, B2055 Hawley Square, B2055 Churchfield Place, B2055 Churchfields and A255 High Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
Various Roads, Margate (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024
To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Various Roads, Margate, on or after 4th November 2024 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.
The closures will be a rolling closure, with varying dates and durations, from 4th November 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd November 2024, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Clarence Avenue will be closed at the junction of Northdown Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Clarence Avenue, Lonsdale Avenue, Gloucester Avenue, Northdown Road and vice versa.
Dalmeny Avenue will be closed at the junction of Northdown Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Northdown Road, West Park Avenue, Northdown Road and vice versa.
Leicester Avenue will be closed at the junction of Northdown Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Leicester Road, Lonsdale Avenue, Gloucester Avenue, Northdown Road and vice versa.
Omer Avenue will be closed at the junction of Northdown Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Omer Avenue, Lonsdale Road, Northumberland Avenue, Northdown Road and vice versa,
Holly Lane will be closed at the junction of Northdown Road.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Holly Lane, Foreland Avenue, Northdown Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
