Watson Street - Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic For Reduction Of Traffic Movement
What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER_ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary One Way Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC140743886: The City of Manchester (Watson Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary One Way Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to make Watson Street One Way from Windmill Street to roundabout on Watson Street (permitted direction of travel). The alternative routes for traffic will be: Watson Street, Great Bridgewater Street, Lower Mosley Street, Windmill Street. The City Council is satisfied that this restriction is necessary in order for Reduction of traffic movement through quieter streets during construction of the CC ATF scheme on Deansgate. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 7th November 2024 to 7th April 2025. The Order shall come into operation on 7th November 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 26th October 2024.
ORDER NO. MCC000140819448: The City of Manchester (Oxford Road, Hulme Ward)(Temporary Suspension Cycle Lane) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to suspend the operation of the cycle lane on Oxford Road, Outside Manchester Metropolitan University to Underneath the Mancunion Way Underpass. prohibit any pedal cycle (and any pedestrian) from proceeding at any time in the following length of cycle lane: Oxford Road, Outside Manchester Metropolitan University to Underneath the Mancunion Way Underpass. The City Council is satisfied that this suspension is necessary in order to facilitate Tree Pruning Works. It is expected that the works will be in progress on 3rd November 2024. The order shall come into operation on 3rd November 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
