Essex - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures and Traffic Restrictions due to Works
What is happening?

(Byway 3, Saffron Walden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Motorised Vehicles and Horse Drawn Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (As amended).
Effect of the order: To temporarily restrict motorised vehicles and horse drawn vehicles on Byway 3, Saffron Walden in the District of Uttlesford, for its entire length, from its junction with Byway 47, to its junction with Butlers Lane for approximately 1,646 metres.
There will be an exemption for solo motorcycles.
The restriction is scheduled to commence on 01 November 2024 to 31 April 2025 or where appropriate signs are showing. The restriction is required to prevent further damage to the surface over the winter months.
The alternative route will be via Byway 47, Hadstock Road, Little Waldon Road, Castle Hill, Ashdon Road, Butlers Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 01 November 2024 may continue in force for 6 months.
(Knole Lane, Elmdon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Knole Lane, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from its junction with Cogmore to its junction with Bridge Green Road a distance of approximately 320m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st November 2024 for
2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (KA140RFSI1815738 - Gigaclear). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while blockage clearance works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
An alternative route is available via Cogmore, Royston Road, Bridge Green Road and vice versa. The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Quicksie Hill, Arkesden)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Quicksie Hill, Arkesden in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 195m south west of its junction with Newland End Lane for a distance of approximately 35m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th November 2024 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06059982/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Hampit Road, Main Street, Clatterbury Lane, Arkesden Road, Wicken Road, High Street, Debden Road, Newport Road, Water Lane, Walden Road, Purton End, Debden Road, Landscape View, Pleasant Valley, Debden Road, London Road, Newport Road, Sparrowsend Hill, Cambridge Road, London Road, Mutlow Hill, London Road, Station Road, Royston Road and vice versa (with access only into Church Hill).
The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Steventon End, Ashdon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Steventon End, Ashdon in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 260m north east of its junction with Over Hall Lane for a distance of approximately 45m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to
commence on 19th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410247015 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Renew/Replace Frame & Lid works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via Steventon End, Bartlow Road, Ashdon Road, Dean Road, Camps Road and vice versa (with access only into Steventon End, Ashdon Road).
The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Rockells Lane, Elmdon)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Rockells Lane, Elmdon in the District of Uttlesford, from both its junction with Beards Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th November 2024 for 12 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH10004153-B - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while lining works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

(Fullers Lane, Elsenham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Fullers Lane, Elsenham in the District of Uttlesford, from apoint approximately 65m north east of its junction with Tye Green Road for a distance of approximately 70m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX06058870/AP - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water. An alternative route is available via Bury Lodge Lane, Round Coppice Road, A120 M11 J8 Spur Roundabout, A120 From A120 M11 J8 Spur Roundabout To M11 J8 Roundabout W, M11 J8 Roundabout, Stane Street, The Street, Dunmow Road, Parsonage Road, Waltham Hall Road, Elsenham Road, Hall Road and vice versa (with access only into Fullers Lane, Tye Green Road, Claypitt Hill, Belmer Road and Burton End Road).
The Order came into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Littlebury Green Road, Littlebury in the District of Uttlesford, from a point approximately 10m south west of its junction with Peggys Walk for a distance of approximately 95m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 8th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410245527 - Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while stop tap and boundary box works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
An alternative route is available via London Road, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
