What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Various Roads, Maldon) (District of Maldon) (20mph Zone) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council proposes to make the above Order under Sections 84(1) (a) and (2) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Effect of the Order: To introduce a 20mph zone on the following roads (including private drives) in the Parish of Maldon in the District of Maldon.

Description

Lancaster Avenue

Approximately 11.5 metres from its junction of Limebrook Way roundabout approximately 408 metres south then east.

Tempest Road

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the entire length approximately 54 metres, including turning heads.

Brewster Court

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue, for the entire length for approximately 58 metres, including turning heads.

York Street

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the entire length, for approximately 125 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Lysander Grove

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the entire length, for approximately 140 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Hurricane Lane

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the entire length, for approximately 173 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Walrus Drive

From its junction with Wellesey Road for the whole length, for approximately 105 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Wellesey Road

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the whole length, approximately 140 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Sunderland Road

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the entire length, for approximately 277 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Seafire Street

From its junction with Lancaster Avenue for the entire length, for approximately 804 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Hampden Close

From its junction with Sunderland Road for the entire length of approximately 191 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Mosquito Lane

From its junction with Seafire Street for the entire length of approximately 37 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Oxford Place

From its junction with Sunderland Road for the entire length for approximately 107 metres.

Boulton Road

From its junction with Mosquito Lane for the entire length for approximately 136 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Douglas Drive

From its junction with Boulton Road for the entire length for approximately 206 metres. Including all private drives and turning heads.

Defiant Drive

From a point approximately 130 metres from its junction with Lincoln Way for its entire length, approximately 256 metres including private drives and turning heads.

Harrow Place

From its junction with Sunderland Avenue, west for approximately 8 metres.

Magister Drive

From its junction with Sunderland Avenue, south for approximately 8 metres.

Albemarle Street

From its junction with Sunderland Avenue, north for approximately 11 metres.

Ripon Way

From its junction with Sunderland Avenue, south for approximately 8 metres.

Lerwick Yard

From its junction with Sunderland Avenue, north for approximately 12 metres.

(Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping)

and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment No.17) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1), 4(2), 9, 10, 32(1), 35(1),45, 46, 49, 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the Order:

1. To Implement: 'No Waiting at Any Time' restrictions on the following lengths of road, Great Totham, in the District of Maldon:

Road

Great Totham Road

ALL SIDES: From its junction with Kelvedon Road generally north-westwards for 40m (including Bennet junction).

Kelvedon Road

BOTH SIDES: From a point approximately 50 metres north of the junction with Walden House Road southwards for a distance of approximately 105 metres.

Walden House Road

SOUTH SIDE:


(i) From its junction with Kelvedon Road east for a distance of approximately 173 metres.


(ii) From a point approximately 15 metres east of the centre of the access road for Walden House Farm, east then south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 339 metres.


NORTH SIDE: From its junction with Kelvedon Road eastwards for a distance of approximately 36 metres.

Catchpole Lane

BOTH SIDES: From a point 15m southwest of its junction with The Paddocks northeast for a distance of approximately 37 metres.

The Paddocks

BOTH SIDES: From its junction with Catchpole Lane south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 15 metres.

2. To Implement: "No Waiting Mon-Fri 8am-9.30am and 2.30pm-4pm" restrictions on the following lengths of road, Great Totham, in the District of Maldon:

NORTH and NORTH-EAST SIDE:


(i) From a point approximately 118 metres east of its junction with Kelvedon Road, eastwards for a distance of approximately 30 metres.


(ii) From a point approximately 94 metres east of the centre line of the access road into Chasefield Farm eastwards and south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 34 metres.


(iii) From a point approximately 13 metres west of Walden Close, eastwards for a distance of approximately 35 metres.


(iv) From a point approximately 35 metres north-eastwards of Walden Close, north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 33 metres.

Catchpole Lane

NORTH-WEST SIDE:


(i) From a point in line with the common boundary of property No's 8a and 8b, north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 5.5 metres.


(ii) From a point approximately 15 metres southwest of its junction with Walden House Road, southwest for a distance of approximately 42 metres.


SOUTH-EAST SIDE:


(i) From a point in line with the property boundary of 11 and 9, north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 22 metres.


(ii) From a point approximately 15 metres southwest of its junction with Walden House Road, southwest for a distance of approximately 25 metres.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by substituting map tiles: TL850 120, TL845 120 and TL850 117 Revision 0 to Revision 1

3. To be Implemented on the following lengths of road: Bus Cage markings No Stopping except Buses' restrictions (at existing bus stops)

NORTH-WEST SIDE: From a point approximately 58 metres southwest of its junction with Walden House Road, southwest for a distance of approximately 13 metres.


SOUTH-EAST SIDE: From a point approximately 25 metres southwest of its junction with Walden House Road, southwest for a distance of approximately 13 metres.

Date of operation: The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024

Application to the high court: Anyone who wishes to question the validity of the Order of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, or any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within six weeks from the date of the making of the Order apply to the High Court for this purpose.

(Bridleway 19, Wickham Bishops) (Temporary Prohibition of Use)

Order 2024

Further to notices: Under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), which commenced on 23 September 2024 and 14 October 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Bridleway 19, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Bridleway 21 for approximately 1,282 metres.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 04 November 2024 to 03 May 2025 weather permitting, or where appropriate signs are showing and is required for the safety of the public due to an unsafe over bridge.

The alternative route will be along the edge of the field, with landowners permission and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 04 November 2024 and may continue in force for 6 months or until the over bridge has been made safe, whichever is the earlier.

(Footpath 30, Heybridge & Langford, Maldon)

(Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the above Order made by Essex County Council, under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has been continued in force with the consent of the Secretary of State for the Department for Transport until 01 May 2025

Effect of the order: To temporarily close Footpath 30, Heybridge and Langford in the District of Maldon as per below.

The alternative route will be via a marked route provided.

The Order came into effect on 01 May 2024 and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while a new roundabout is built for the new development.

(Church Green, Wickham Bishops) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Church Green, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Church Road to its other junction with Church Road a distance of approximately 130m.

2. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction in the above length of road for the duration of above closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure and restriction are scheduled to commence on 18th November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20153079840 -Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure and restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while CCTV/ jetting works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Church Road, Wickham Bishops) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of Church Road, Wickham Bishops in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Leigh Drive to its junction with Church Green a distance of approximately 165m.

2. To temporarily introduce a 'No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction in the above length of road for the duration of above closure only.

"The Essex County Council (Maldon District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

An alternative route is available via Church Road, Station Road, Langford Road, Witham Road, Maldon Road, Langford Road, Langford Road Roundabout, Langford Road, Maypole Road, The Street, Blacksmiths Lane, Church Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Witham Road, Little Braxted) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Witham Road, Little Braxted in the District of Maldon, from a point approximately 945m north west of its junction with Old School Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 21st November 2024 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M120177 - Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while boundary box installation works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via Colemans Bridge, Colchester Road, A12, Oak Road, Henry Dixon Road, Braxted Road, Braxted Park Road and Lea Lane or Lea Lane, Braxted Park Road, Braxted Road, London Road, A12 and Colemans Bridge or Colemans Bridge, A12, The Street, A12, Oak Road, Henry Dixon Road, Braxted Road, Braxted Park Road and Lea Lane (with access only into Old School Lane, Witham Road and Little Braxted Lane).

The Order will come into effect on 31st October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(London Road, Maldon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of London Road, Maldon in the District of Maldon, from its junction with Wellington Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 4th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M114343 - Essex and Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while perm reinstatement footway works are undertaken by Essex and Suffolk Water.

An alternative route is available via London Road, West Square, High Street, Spital Road, St Giles Crescent, Beacon Hill, London Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 17th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
