What is happening?

U107 SANDGATE, BERWICK-UPON-TWEED
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council intends
to make an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following
sections of highways in Berwick-upon-Tweed in the County of
Northumberland.
 U107 Palace Gardens from its junction with Palace Green heading in
a westerly direction for a length of 72 metres.
 U107 Palace Street with its point with Palace Gardens heading in a
northerly direction for a length of 105 metres.
 U107 Sandgate from its junction with Palace Street heading in a north
easterly direction for a length of 60 metres.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the Palace Street
East, Silver Street, Hide Hill and vice-versa.
The Order is to be effective from the 18th November 2024 until the 1st
April 2025.
It is expected that the roads will only be closed from the 18th November
2024 until the 22nd November 2024 between the hours of 08:00 until
16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 1st
April 2025.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to
carry out resurfacing works. In order to minimise future disruption, other
contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this
Order.
