Amendments to Waiting Restriction and Parking Place Orders in the Borough of Spelthorne – Furlong Road, Staines-Upon-Thames
On 5 July 2024 Surrey County Council (“the Council”) proposed to make The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in the Borough of Spelthorne) (Waiting Loading and Unloading Prohibition and OnStreet Parking Places Orders) (Amendment No. 1) Order 202-, under Sections 1, 2, 4, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 49, 51 and 53 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Council proposes to make further amendments as follows:-
1. Amend The Surrey County Council (Elmsleigh Road StainesUpon-Thames) Loading Bays Order 2024, (1) to provide for an onstreet loading bay in part of Furlong Road, Staines-Upon-Thames, operational at all times, subject to certain exemptions, such as for emergency service vehicles or where necessary for works etc.; and (2) amend the title of the said Order to “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Spelthorne) Loading Bays Order 2024”.
2. Amend The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Spelthorne) (Revocation and Consolidation of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Prohibition and Restriction) Order 2024, to revoke the prohibition of waiting by vehicles at any time, in part of Furlong Road, StainesUpon-Thames, to accommodate the loading bays specified herein.
A copy of the plans showing the length of road to which the proposal relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be viewed on-line at www.surreycc.gov.uk/ roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-andtransport-consultations (follow the link to Furlong Road, Staines, Loading Bays). Copies of these documents and of the proposed Orders may be inspected, free of charge at (1) Surrey Highways, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford Surrey GU4 7BQ (by appointment); (2) Spelthorne Borough Council, Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 1XB, during normal office hours; and at (3) Ashford Library, Church Road, Ashford, Middlesex, TW15 2XB; (4) Shepperton Library, High Street, Shepperton, Middlesex, TW7 9AU; (5) Sunbury Library, The Parade, Staines Road West, Sunbury on Thames, Middlesex, TW16 7AB; (6) Staines Library, Friends Walk, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 4PG; and (7) Stanwell Community Library, Hadrian Way, Stanwell, Middlesex, TW19 7HF; during normal opening hours. Copies of the previous Orders may be inspected at Surrey Highways as quoted above. If you wish to object to, or make representations relating to, the proposed Orders, as set out in this Notice, you must send the grounds for your objection or representation (including any in support), by (1) using the online form via the webpage quoted above; (2) in writing to the undersigned at Traffic regulation Orders Team, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey GU4 7BQ; by 22 November 2024.
