What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF ALL TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the U2079 Low Row, High Scales, from its junction with the A596, extending in a south easterly direction for approx. 250m.

A suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the U2079, C2006 and A596.

The Order will come into operation on 13 November 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restriction will only be required for 1 day between 0900 and 1700 hours and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
