What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAY
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (HAWTON BRIDLEWAY NO.4) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Hawton Bridleway No.4) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024 (which came into force on 22nd April 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remains in force until 21st October 2024 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 21st April 2025 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner. The Order has the following effect:- No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed, in the following length of Bridleway at Hawton in the District of Newark and Sherwood: - Hawton Bridleway No.4 between its junction with Hawton Lane and its junction with Bridleway No.6 at Middlebeck.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available to path users will be by a non-definitive path provided by the developer. If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The prohibition is required to enable access for development works and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the path.
