What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL  ( BALDERTON FOOTPATH NO.11 ) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council has made an Order, under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be: -

No person shall: - Proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Balderton in the

District of Newark and Sherwood: -

Balderton Footpath No.11 between the Sustrans Track at Grid Reference SK 8060 5138, through the old Flowserve site to the junction with Balderton Footpath No.13 at grid reference point SK 8091 5134, a distance of 310 metres.

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition will apply as follows:- From 28th October 2024 until 27th April 2025 inclusive.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route will be via the Sustrans Track, Lowfield Lane and Balderton Footpath No.13 and vice versa. The prohibition shall apply to enable works to be carried out and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath. It may also apply on subsequent days when it shall be necessary. If the works are not completed within 6 months, the Order may be extended. The prohibition is required to enable construction of a new access road and housing development, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.

THIS CLOSURE WILL ONLY TAKE EFFECT WHEN SIGNS INDICATING CLOSURE ARE DISPLAYED THIS NOTICE IS DATED THIS 24 TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2024.
