What is happening?
COVENTRY (JENNAWAY GARDENS AND ETHELRED CLOSE) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), has made the above Traffic Regulation Order (“the Order”), which come into operation on 28th October 2024.
The effect of the Order when originally advertised was to introduce the following waiting restrictions:-
Jennaway Gardens/Little Cryfield – Proposed prohibition of waiting (double yellow lines) for junction protection – preventing waiting within 10 metres of the junction.
Jennaway Gardens/Ethelred Close – Proposed prohibition of waiting (double yellow lines) for junction protection – preventing waiting within 10 metres of the junction.
Jennaway Gardens – Proposed, prohibition of waiting, Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm (single yellow line) for the remaining extent of the road (i.e. where no double yellow lines are proposed)
Ethelred Close – Proposed, prohibition of waiting, Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm (single yellow line) for the remaining extent of the road (i.e. where no double yellow lines are proposed)
The Council originally advertised the Order on 21st March 2024. A number of objections were received to the making of the Order and following due consideration of the same by the Cabinet Member for City Services at the public meeting of 17th June 2024, the decision was reached to make the following changes upon making the Order:
• Install the double yellow lines (prohibition of waiting) at road junctions and the ‘prohibition of waiting, Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm’ on Jennaway Gardens
• Not to install the proposed ‘prohibition of waiting, Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm’ restriction on Elthelred Close
A copy of this Notice, the sealed Order, plans and Statement of Reasons may be inspected on the Council’s website at ‘www.coventry.gov.uk/tro’.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder, or of any relevant Act, has not been complied with may, within six (6) weeks from today, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS BOAR CROFT, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Boar Croft for its full length.
The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Monday 4th November 2024 and is required to allow Severn Trent Water to install and renew water connections for on the said road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Tuesday 12th November 2024.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Boar Croft
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS STATION AVENUE, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), intends to make a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Station Avenue from its junction with Tile Hill Lane to its junction with Torrington Avenue.
The Order would come into effect at 00.01 hours on Friday 8th November 2024 and is required to allow BT to safely carry out the installation of new apparatus on the said road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Wednesday 13th November 2024.
The specific closure times would apply as the signage indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic would be as signed on site.
Exemptions would be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Station Avenue
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS UNICORN LANE COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Unicorn Lane junction with Alspath Lane to its junction with Dial House Lane.
The Order would come into effect from on Monday 28th October 2024 to allow Cadent gas to divert their gas mains to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by Friday 15th November 2024.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to the closed section Unicorn Lane
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS GREENS ROAD COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order would be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Greens Road junction off Halford Lane and Bennetts Road South.
The Order would come into effect from on Wednesday 30th October 2024 to allow Repair defective sewer in chamber to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works would be completed by 17:00 on Thursday 31st October 2024.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to the closed section Greens Road.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS FOOTPATHS GREYFRIARS GREEN, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of which will prohibit pedestrians from entering and proceeding along Footpath Greyfriars Green for the extents specified in the Schedule below..
The Order will come into effect from 07:30 hours on Friday 24th October 2024 and is required for footpath and cycleway works to be undertaken safely. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is envisaged that the works will be completed by Friday 22nd November 2024.
Exemptions will be provided for (a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform; (b) any persons in connection with the execution of the said works; (c) local pedestrian access

Footpath Greyfriars Green for its entire length, from Freemans Way to Starley Memorial Statue
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS WAPPENBURY ROAD, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will be to prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering or proceeding on Wappenbury Road commencing from its junction with Wappenbury Road commencing from its junction with Hillmorton Road to its junction with Alton Close, from a point outside property no. 2 to a point outside no.16 Wappenbury Road.
The Order will come into effect on 08:00 hours on Tuesday 29th October 2024 and is required to allow for a hydrant renewal service on the said road.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 18.00 hours on Thursday 31st October 2024.
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.
Diversion(s) for vehicular traffic will be as signed on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works;
(d) local vehicular access to Wappenbury Road
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS DORCHESTER ROAD AND EAGLE STREET, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Dorchester Road and Eagle Street for their entire lengths
The Order will come into effect from 07:00 hours on Sunday 27th October 2024 and is required for lining works and associated works on the highway to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by 16:00 hours on Sunday 27th October 2024.
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works
(d) any persons requiring reasonable vehicular access and egress to properties on the closed roads
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS MAYFLOWER DRIVE, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Mayflower Drive between its junction with Billington Close and Barbican Rise.
The Order will come into effect from Monday 28th October 2024 and is required for facilitate carriageway rectification works on the highway to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Wednesday 30th October 2024.
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:
(a) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or civil enforcement officer in uniform;
(b) emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and statutory undertaker vehicles at the time of an emergency for that vehicle to have access to part of a street under restriction imposed by the Order;
(c) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS ST JAMES LANE, COVENTRY
Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along St James Lane Eastbound from its junction with London Road to its junction with London Road Service Road. The order will also prohibit vehicles turning Into St James Lane from London Road. No right turn from London Road Service Road junction with St James Lane.
The Order will come into effect from Monday 28th October 2024 and is required for facilitate defective apparatus repair works on the highway to take place safely.
The maximum duration of the Order is eighteen (18) months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is expected that the works will be completed by Friday 1st November 2024
The specific closure times will apply as the signage indicates on site.
Exemptions will be provided for:

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of which will prohibit pedestrians from entering and proceeding along Footpath Daleway Road for the extents specified in the Schedule below.
The Order will come into effect from Monday 28th October 2024 and is required for water connection replacement works to be undertaken safely. The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months or until the said works are completed, whichever is earlier. It is envisaged that the works will be completed by Friday 1st November 2024.

Coventry City Council, under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (as amended), has made a temporary Order, the effect of the Order will prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading or unloading, entering, proceeding along Upper Hill Street from its junction with Abbotts Lane.
The Order will come into effect from 08:00 hours on Monday 28th October 2024 and is required for facilitate trunk hydrant installation works on the highway to take place safely.
