Sandwell - Various Temporary Road Works
What is happening?
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Oldbury Road, Rowley Regis) (Temporary One-Way Road and Footway Closures) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Oldbury Road, which will be closed one-way in a north-easterly direction from the north-eastern side of the access road for the Wilko car park to the junction of Henderson Way. Traffic will be diverted via Birmingham Road and Henderson Way. The footway in the vicinity of the works in Oldbury Road will be closed and an alternative pedestrian diversion route will be signed via the controlled pedestrian facilities associated with the traffic signal junction at Oldbury Road/Henderson Way. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 29/10/2024 effective from 28/10/2024 (24 hour). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Castle Road, High Street, Bell Street, Hall Street and Shrubbery Avenue, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along the following roads:-
Castle Road and High Street, which will be closed at the junction of Dudley Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route for the Castle Road closure will be signed via Menin Road, Shrubbery Avenue, Dudley Road and vice-versa. A traffic diversion route for the High Street closure will be signed via Sedgely Road West, Dudley Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 18/11/2024 effective from 29/10/2024 (24 hour).
Bell Street, Hall Street and Shrubbery Avenue will be closed at the junction of Dudley Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route for the Bell Street closure will be signed via Sedgley Road West, Dudley Road and vice-versa. A traffic diversion route for the Hall Street closure will be signed via Chapel Street, Sedgley Road West, Dudley Road and vice-versa. A traffic diversion route for the Shrubbery Avenue closure will be signed via Menin Road, Poplar Avenue and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 29/11/2024 effective from 18/11/2024 (24 hour).
Purpose – to facilitate access to excavate and install ducting for a high voltage cable by Doocey Group on behalf of National Grid Electricity Distribution.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Woods Lane, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Woods Lane from the junction of Forge Lane for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Forge lane, Cradley Forge, May Pole Hill, Lyde Green, Bridge Street, Cradley Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 29/10/2024 effective from 27/10/2024 (24 hour). Purpose – to facilitate access for rail track maintenance and fault repairs within the vicinity of the level crossing by Network Rail Ltd.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Woods Lane, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Woods Lane from the junction of Forge Lane for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Forge Lane, Cradley Forge, May Pole Hill, Lyde Green, Bridge Street, Cradley Road and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 31/10/2024 effective from 30/10/2024 (10pm-8am). Purpose – to facilitate access for the renewal of a level crossing pedestal by Network Rail Ltd.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Wilderness Lane, Great Barr) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Wilderness Lane, which will be closed between the junctions of Birmingham Road and Peak House Road (eastern side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route (north-westerly direction) will be signed via Birmingham Road. A further traffic diversion route (easterly direction) will be signed via Newton Road and Birmingham Road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 03/11/2024 effective from 26/10/2024 (24 hour). Purpose – to facilitate access to install an electrical service cable by National Grid Electricity Distribution.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Coneygree Road Industrial Estate, Tipton) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Coneygree Road Indsutrial Estate, which will be closed from the entrance/exit of Selco Builders Warehouse for approximately 50 metres in a north-east direction. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will not be signed as Coneygree Road Industrial Estate is not a through road. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 31/10/2024 effective from 29/10/2024 (24hrs). The Borough Council of Sandwell (Grove Lane, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 has made an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Grove Lane, which will be closed from the junction of Dudley Road to the junction of Grove Street. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. Traffic will be diverted via Halberton Street and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 27/10/2024 (12pm-2pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for maintenance works by Ericsson.
