A46 Trunk Road, Syston To Widmerpool - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic For Maintenance Works

THE A46 TRUNK ROAD (SYSTON TO WIDMERPOOL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company no. 9346363) has made an order on the A46 Trunk Road between Syston and Widmerpool, in the Counties of Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire to allow drainage, line marking and maintenance works to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to, at different times, –

(1) close –

(a) the northbound carriageway of the A46 from its junction with the slip road leading to the roundabout junction with the A607, at Syston, to its junction with the slip road leading from the roundabout junction with the A606 Melton Road and The Fosse (Widmerpool Interchange), at Widmerpool;

(b) the southbound carriageway of the A46 from its junction with the slip road leading to Widmerpool Interchange, to its junction with the link road leading from Station Road, near Upper Broughton;

(c) any slip road or link road leading to or from the lengths of the A46 described in (a) and (b) above; and

(d) any layby situated adjacent to the lengths of the A46 described at (a) and (b) above; and

(2) prohibit any vehicle from entering or leaving the lengths of the A46 described in (1)(a) and (b) above, at the junction with any side road.

The work will be carried out overnight between 20:00 hours and 06:00 hours and is expected to start on Monday 28 October 2024 and continue for five nights.

The layby closures will be in operation from 10:00 on Monday 28 October 2024, for twenty-four hours per day, for the duration of the works. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. The Order will come into force on 25 October 2024.

Diversion routes via the A606 and the A607 and vice versa will be signed.
