What is happening?
MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC140482408: The City of Manchester (Deansgate, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Deansgate from Blackfriars Street to St Mary’s Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Blackfriars Street, Chapel Street, New Bailey Street, Bridge Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate the erection of Christmas Lighting. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 23:0hrs on 27th October 2024 to 04:00hrs on 28th October 2024. The order shall come into operation on 27th October 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. ORDER NO. MCC140212139: The City of Manchester (Chepstow Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2024 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Chepstow Street outside Canada House Number 24. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Oxford Street, Charles Street, Princess Street, Whitworth Street, Whitworth Street West, Albion Street, Great Bridgewater Street, Chepstow Street & Lower Mosley Street, Windmill Street, Mount Street, Peter Street, Oxford Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Carriageway resurfacing. It is expected that the works will be in progress on the 27th October 2024 only. The order shall come into operation on 27th October 2024 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
