What is happening?



SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL


Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (RTRA 1984) and
Regulation 3 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure
Regulations 1992 (SI 1992/1215)

1. Sheffield City Council makes the following Orders in exercise of its powers under Section 14(1) of the RTRA 1984 and any other enabling powers.
2. The Orders are needed because works are being or are proposed to be
executed on or near the said highway.
3. If the Orders are made, they will come into operation on 31 October 2024 and shall remain in force for a period of six months. The duration of the Orders can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The restrictions specified will only have effect at such times and to such extent as indicated by the display of notices.
4. A copy of the draft Orders may be viewed on request by contacting the Council on 0114 2734034.

Broadfield Road and Saxon Road Footpath Link (Prohibition of Pedestrians) Order 2024

5. The Order is made over an area of the highway being the footpath link between Broadfield Road and Saxon Road.
6. While the Order is in operation: it will prohibit any pedestrian from travelling in the length of footpath as described in paragraph 5 above.
7. The alternative route for the traffic affected by this Order will be via Clyde Road.


Sugworth Road (Prohibition of Vehicles and Pedestrians) Order 2024

8. The Order is made over an area of the highway being Sugworth Road from Mortimer Road to Blindside Lane.
9. While the Order is in operation: it will prohibit any person from allowing any vehicle to proceed in the areas of highway as described in paragraph 8 above. The Order will also prohibit any pedestrian, person on horseback or leading a horse from travelling in the lengths of footway as included within the areas of highway as described in paragraph 8 above.
10. Access to adjacent properties will be maintained at all times.
11. The alternative route for the traffic affected by this Order will be signed on site.
