What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
SECTION 14 (1) TEMPORARY PROHIBITION
OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
CLIFF ROAD AND SEAGATE, SEWERBY
Notice is hereby given that East Riding of Yorkshire
Council intends not less than seven days from the date
of this notice to make an Order, the effect of which will
be to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along
the following roads commencing 11 November 2024
to allow carriageway maintenance works to be carried
out safely.
1. Cliff Road (from the junction of Riviera Drive to
the Ship Inn)
2. Seagate (from the junction of Cliff Road to
outside number 1)
The alternative route for traffic affected by the road
closure will be via Main Street, Seagate and vice versa.
The road closure is necessary to enable the works to
be carried out in a manner consistent with ensuring
the safety of the public. The Order is valid for 18
months, but it is anticipated that the works will be
completed by 22 November 2024. The closure will be
between 08.00 hours and 17.00 hours.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of
closure. The roads will be closed to all traffic but
access will be maintained for emergency vehicles,
residents and pedestrians.
