What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LUTON ROAD, TODDINGTON)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Luton Road, Toddington between High Street and Princess Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable pre surface dressing patching and civils work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 11 to 29 November 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B579,B510 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 11 November 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(STANBRIDGEFORD ROAD, TOTTERNHOE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Stanbridgeford Road, Totternhoe between the river and the end of the cul-de-sac.

This temporary closure is required to enable bridge improvement works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 14 to 15 November 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure, access to residents will be maintained.

The Order will come into operation on 14 November 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(BREWERS HILL ROAD, DUNSTABLE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Brewers Hill Road, Dunstable between Maidenbower Avenue and Creasey Park Drive.

This temporary closure is required to enable civils work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 October to 30 October 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via High Street North, Chiltern Road, Maidenbower Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

(GROVE ROAD, HOUGHTON REGIS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Grove Road, Houghton Regis between Thornbury Court and 123 Grove Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable footway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 28 October to 1 November 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure, access for residents will be maintained.

The Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(BARTON ROAD, STREATLEY)

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle from exceeding a 30mph speed limit along the length of Barton Road, Streatley which extends from approximately 400 metres south of Sharpenhoe Road to the county boundary.

This temporary speed limit is required to enable safe access and egress of vehicles into site and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs.

It is expected that the 30mph speed limit will be in operation from 28 October 2024 to 17th January 2025.

The proposed Order will come into operation on 28 October 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed whichever is the earlier.

TO INTRODUCE PARKING FOR DISABLED BADGE HOLDERS ON VAUXHALL WAY, DUNSTABLE

On 15th October 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic

Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-

To introduce Parking for Disabled badge holders only on the following lengths of road in Dunstable:-

1. Vauxhall Way, northwest side, from a point approximately in line with 1 metre southwest of the northeast flank wall belonging to No. 2 Vauxhall Way and extending in a north-easterly direction, covering an area approximately 6 metres in length and 2  metres in width.

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Bedfordshire County Council (District of South Bedfordshire) (Civil Enforcement Area and Special Enforcement Area) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2008) (Variation No.40) Order 2024

Date of Operation: - The Order will come into operation on the 30th October 2024.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 15th October 2024, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
