Ashford, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices
What is happening?
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
A28 CANTERBURY ROAD, KENNINGTON & BOUGHTON ALUPH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A28 Canterbury Road, Kennington & Boughton Aluph, from 11th November 2024, with estimated completion by 16th November 2024, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Canterbury Road, A28 Ashford Road, A252 Maidstone Road, A252 Canterbury Road, A251 Buck Street, A251 Faversham Road and A2042 Faversham Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
A262 TENTERDEN ROAD, BIDDENDEN, TN27 8BQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow sewer connection and new access works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A262 Tenterden Road, Biddenden, from 28th October 2024, with estimated completion by 3rd November 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with Benenden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A262 Tenterden Road, A28 Ashford Road, A268 Rye Road, A229 Cranbrook Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road and A262 High Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
A292 HYTHE ROAD, ASHFORD, TN24 0RZ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow cabling works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of A292 Hythe Road, Ashford, from 11th November 2024, with estimated completion by 13th November 2024, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 304, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any westbound through traffic is via A292 Hythe Road, A2070 Spur From M20 J10, A2070 M20 J10 Roundabout, Willesborough Interchange, M20 Junction 10 From Junction 9 Off Slip, A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road, A2070 From M20 J10 Roundabout To J A2042 S, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, Bad Munstereifel Slip West Bound Off, Bad Munstereifel Slip West Bound On, A2070 J A2042 Leave N, Romney Marsh Road Roundabout, A2042 Romney Marsh Road, Avenue Jacques Faucheux, Beaver Road, Victoria Road, Station Road, Wellesley Road and A292 Mace Lane.
The alternative route for any eastbound through traffic is via A2070 Hythe Road, A2070 Mace Lane, A2042 Wellesley Road, Station Road, Beaver Road, Avenue Jacques Faucheux, Newtown Road, Romney Marsh Road, Kimberley Way, Romney Marsh Road Roundabout, Bad Munstereifel Road, A2070 J A2042 Join S, Bad Munstereifel Slip East Bound Off, Bad Munstereifel Slip East Bound On, A2070 From J A2042 To M20 J10 Roundabout N, A2070 From M20 J10 Roundabout To J A2042 S, Willesborough Interchange, A2070 M20 J10 Roundabout and A2070 Spur From M20 J10.

BENENDEN ROAD, BIDDENDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow carriageway repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Benenden Road, Biddenden, from 11th November 2024, with estimated completion by 12th November 2024, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from the junction with A262 Tenterden Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A262 Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, High Halden Lane, A28 Ashford Road, Grange Road, Silver Hill, Beacon Oak Road, East Cross, High Street, West Cross, Rolvenden Road, Rolvenden Hill, Regent Street, Old Regent Drive, Hastings Road, A268 Rye Road, Queen Street, Megrims Hill, A229 Cranbrook Road, Gills Green, Slip Mill Lane, Hawkhurst Road, Hartley Road, Angley Road, Wheatfield Way, Wilsley Green, Wilsley Pound, Sissinghurst Road and A262 The Street.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
MOUNT PLEASANT, TENTERDEN, TN30 6RW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Mount Pleasant, Tenterden, from 13th November 2024, with estimated completion by 14th November 2024 at 15:30 hours, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in its entirety, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential and emergency access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
NEWCHURCH ROAD, BILSINGTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Newchurch Road, Bilsington, from 11th November 2024, with estimated completion by 15th November 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed 15m either side of the culvert, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Newchurch Road, B2067 Bonnington Road, Giggers Green Road, The Street, Clarklands, Newchurch Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
PLUCKLEY ROAD, CHARING. (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose a temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on part of Pluckley Road, Charing, from 1st November 2024, with estimated completion by 12th November 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The temporary mandatory 30 mph speed restriction on Pluckley Road, Charing will be imposed 60m either side of Charing Pumping Station, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
REPTON AVENUE, ASHFORD. (PROHIBITION OF LEFT/RIGHT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2024
To allow traffic light repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic, in phases, on part of Repton Avenue, Ashford, from turning left/right onto A28 Templar Way, from 12th November 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
Phase 1
Turning left will be prohibited from Repton Avenue onto A28 Templar Way.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Templar way, Chart Road Roundabout and A28 Templar Way.
Phase 2
Turning right will be prohibited from Repton Avenue onto A28 Templar Way.
The alternative route for through traffic is via A28 Templar Way, Simon Weil Roundabout and A28 Templar Way.
THE STREET, PLUCKLEY, TN27 0QS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2024
To allow new service connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Street, Pluckley, from 28th October 2024, with estimated completion by 1st November 2024, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of 4 Yew Tree Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Station Road, Chambers Green Road, Smarden Road, Forge Hill, The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
