What is happening?

Somerset Council A38 Bristol Road, Bridgwater in the Parish of Bridgwater (Temporary One Way) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of October 2024 Somerset Council made the above Order in exercise of the provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as previously advertised on the 8th day of October 2024, to introduce a temporary one-way restriction on the road specified in the Schedule below. This Order will come into operation on the 22nd day of October 2024 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The Works are expected to commence on the 31st day of October 2024 until the 1st day of November 2024 (between 0800 hours and 0700 hours) to enable Wales and West Utilities safe access to carry out works to install a new gas connection. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs.

Schedule - Temporary One-Way A38 Bristol Road, Bridgwater - from its junction with the Cross Rifles Roundabout in a northerly direction to its junction with Union Street.

Statement of reasons for making the Order a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
