Higher House Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HIGHER HOUSE LANE, HEAPEY, CHORLEY BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Higher House Lane, Heapey from Hollin Lane, Heapey for a distance of 125m in a South Easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours until 1700 hours on Tuesday 29th October 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Moor Road, Anglezarke – Knowsley Lane, Heath Charnock – Knowsley Embankment, Heath Charnock – Dill Hall Brow, Heath Charnock – Nick Hiltons Brow, Heath Charnock – New Road, Heath Charnock – Babylon Lane, Heath Charnock – Babylon Lane, Anderton – Babylon Lane, Adlington – Chorley Road, Adlington – Chorley Road, Heath Charnock – Bolton Road, Heath Charnock – Bolton Road, Chorley – Bolton Street, Chorley – Lyons Lane South, Chorley – Lyons Lane, Chorley – Eaves Lane, Chorley – Botany Brow, Chorley – Blackburn Brow, Chorley – Knowley Brow, Chorley – Heapey Road, Chorley – Heapey Road, Heapey and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow vegetation management works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
