What is happening?

THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(PART OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH FP0910035 & FP0910034 COPPULL, CHORLEY
BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has agreed to the above Order, which was due to expire on the 1st November, 2024, remaining in force until the 1st May, 2026, or until the works are completed within this period. The effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all traffic from proceeding over that length of Public Footpath, indicated below:-

That part of Public Footpath FP0910035 & FP0910034 Coppull, Chorley, from Point A (SD 5582 – 1374) at Manor Way in a generally south, south easterly direction for approximately 180 metres to Point B (SD 5587 – 1356) and continuing in a north easterly direction for approximately 450 metres to Point C (SD 5610 – 1381) at Wood Lane.

The temporary closure is necessary whilst works are carried out on or near the footpath.

Access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the footpath, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, the footpath, will be maintained at all times.

Nothing in the order shall apply to emergency service vehicles or to those undertaking the works.
