Balmoral Road, Temporary Prohibitions Due To Water Works

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

(BALMORAL ROAD, WESTCLIFF ON SEA) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, PARKING,

STOPPING, WAITING, LOADING AND UNLOADING) ORDER 2024 ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Effect of the order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

1. Proceeding on Balmoral Road from its junction with London Road (A13) to its junction with Salisbury Avenue. (Access will be maintained from London Road (A13) for residents of Howards Court)

2. Parking, stopping, waiting, loading and unloading on Balmoral Road from its junction with London Road (A13) to outside and opposite No7 Balmoral Road.

The closure & suspension is scheduled to commence from 08:00 on the 28th of October 2024 until 17:00 on 30th of October 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The alternative route will be via London Road (A13), Hamlet Court Road & Osborne Road or Windsor Road Hamlet Court Road and London Road (A13) The Order will come into effect on 28th of October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. The closure & suspension is required for the safety of the public and workforce whilst Essex & Suffolk Water maintenance works takes place.

Access for emergency vehicles, residents and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004
