What is happening?

Temporary Road Closures Rootes Drive

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has made an Order under
The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 Schedule 1 - Section 14 (1)(A) and all other enabling powers prohibiting vehicles from proceeding or waiting in roads cited below. Where necessary to maintain access for residents and occupiers one way or two-way traffic working may be imposed on affected roads.

Road Closed To Vehicles For Utility Works.
Rootes Drive, to be closed at the junction of Barlby Road to the top of the one way sections of the road, at the rear of 31 and 33 Shrewsbury Street. To be closed from 08.00hrs on Monday 28th October 2024 until 18.00hrs on Friday 8th November 2024, with backup dates of Monday 4th November 2024 until Friday 15th November 2024, or until the works are completed.

Diverted through traffic may use Barlby Road, Dalgarno Gardens, Dalgarno Way, Shrewsbury Street, Rootes Drive, in both directions.
Access will be maintained for residents and occupiers. Nothing in this Order shall apply to anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police constable in uniform or a traffic warden. Nothing in this Order shall apply to any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency.
