(CLARENDON PARK ROAD AND PORTLAND ROAD, LEICESTER)
(LIMITED WAITING BAYS, DISABLED BAY AND REVOCATIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. ###) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN Leicester City Council (“the Council”) proposes to make an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 5, 32, 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to makes the following Order:-
The effects of the Order set out in Schedule 1 to this Notice, will be to amend and introduce new Limited Waiting Bays and a Disabled Parking Bay on parts of the following length(s) of road(s).
Schedule 1
The effects of the Order will be: -
• To introduce Limited Waiting parking places that operate from 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Saturday inclusive for a Max stay of 1 hour and a No return within 1 hour, in the following lengths of Clarendon Park Road and Portland Road:-
• Clarendon Park Road - 1) South-east side; From 4 metres south-west of Portland Road to a point 9 metres south-west of Portland Road. 2) North-east side; From 16 metres south-west of Portland Road to a point 26 metres south-west of Portland Road.
• Portland Road - 1) North-east side; From 3 metres south-west of Clarendon Park Road to a point 13 metres south-east of Clarendon Park Road. 2) Southwest side; From 28 metres south-east of Clarendon Park Road to a point 3 metres south-east of Clarendon Park Road.
• To introduce Disabled Parking Bay that operates at all times on all days in the following length of Road:-
• Clarendon Park Road - North-west side; From 38 metres south-west of West Avenue to a point 31 metres south-west of West Avenue.
• To revoke existing Prohibitions and Restriction.
A COPY of the proposed Order, the relevant plan, the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and extract copies of the Order being amended may be seen at Leicester City Council’s website: leicester.gov.uk/ trafficregulationorders.
OBJECTIONS to the proposed Order should be sent to ian.nash@leicester.gov.uk or email TROteam@leicester.gov.uk and mark for the attention of Ian Nash. Any objections stating grounds on which they are made and quoting ref. (Parking Places - Portland) must be received by me by the 12th day of November 2024.
The proposed introduction of the limited waiting bays and the disabled bay is to help support local business and the Geeta Bhavan and Christchurch.
