The East Sussex (Public Footpath Newhaven 29 (part))
(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2024
To protect public safety during the construction of two new doctors’ surgeries in Newhaven Square, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:
Temporary Footpath Closure
Part of Public Footpath Newhaven 29 will be closed to all users between TQ 4455 0138 and TQ 4459 0139 for a distance of 57 metres. Unfortunately, there is no alternative route.
The closure will be in force for 6 months from 4 November 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (U5055 The Street, Firle)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
The Street – from the junction with P5671 The Dock to the Ram Inn Public House.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 21 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 21 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7039 Dern Lane, Chiddingly)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Dern Lane – from the junction with U7672 Stalkers Lane to Longshaw Farm.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7039 Dern Lane – C208 Furnace Lane, Tanyard Hill – C328 Foxhunt Green – U7676 Graywood Lane – U7672 Stalkers Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 18 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 18 and 21 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5107 Evelyn Road, Lewes)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Evelyn Road – from the junction with U5107 Horsfield Road to the junction with U5107 Lee Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5107 Horsfield Road, Eridge Green, Lee Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 21 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 October and 1 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A26 Uckfield Road, Herons Ghyll)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Uckfield Road – from the junction with U7502 Rocks Lane to the junction with C3 New Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C3 New Road – B2026 Duddleswell Road, Lampool Road, Straight Half Mile – A22 Maresfield bypass – A26 Uckfield bypass, Mill Pond Road, Five Ash Down and vice versa.
The Order commences 21 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 October and 1 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2192 Ringmer Road, Ringmer)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Ringmer Road – from the junction with A26 Uckfield Road to the junction with C113 New Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2192 Lewes Road, The Broyle, Terrible Down Road, Lewes Road – A22 Eastbourne Road, Uckfield bypass – A26 Lewes Road, Rose Hill, Uckfield Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 21 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 19:00hrs to 07:00hrs between 21 and 25 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C203 Beacon Road, Ditchling)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Beacon Road – from the junction with B2112 Clayton Road to the junction with U5240 Underhill Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic southbound via B2112 Clayton Road – B2112 (WSX) – A273 (WSX) – A23(T) – A27(T) – A27 (BHCC) – C4780 (BHCC) – C5060 (BHCC) – C203 Ditchling Road, Upper Beacon Road and northbound via C203 Upper Beacon Road, Ditchling Road – C5060 (BHCC) – C4780 (BHCC) – C4500 (BHCC) – A27 (BHCC) – A27(T) – A23(T) – A273 (WSX) – B2112 (WSX) – B2112 Clayton Road.
The Order commenced 4 March 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7697 Lower Road/U7696 Church Road, Flowers Green, Herstmonceux)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2024 To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;
Temporary Road Closures
Lower Road – from the junction with U7697 Church Road to the junction with U7123 Butlers Lane. Diversion via U7697 Church Road – U7123 Butlers Lane and vice versa.
Church Road – from Bothy Cottages to Milland Cottages.
Diversion via U7697 Church Road – U7123 Butlers Lane – U7697 Lower Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 22 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 22 and 23 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7082 Sessingham Lane, Arlington)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Sessingham Lane – for its full extent.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 5 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 5 and 6 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7674 Swansbrook Lane, Chiddingly & Horam)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Swansbrook Lane – from the junction with A267 Eastbourne Road to the junction with C330 Gun Hill.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A267 Eastbourne Road, Horam Road – C114 Chiddingly Road – C330 Pick Hill, Gun Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A26 Eridge Road, Eridge Green)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Eridge Road – from the junction with C70 Bunny Lane to the county border.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A26 (KCC) – A267 Frant Road (KCC) – A267 Frant Road – C70 Bunny Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 4 and 9 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7853 Perrymans Lane, Buxted/ Herons Ghyll)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Perrymans Lane – from the junction with A26 Uckfield Road to the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C402 Hurstwood Road – U7502 Rocks Lane – A26 Uckfield Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C465 Hillswood Road, Frant)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hillswood Road – from the junction with U7842 Fairview Lane to the junction with C70 Broadwater Forest Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C70 Broadwater Forest Lane – U7842 Fairview Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 8 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Bodle Street Road – from the junction with C16 Back Lane to the junction with U7919 Iwoods Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C16 White Horse Road – C1072 Chilsham Lane – C344 Stunts Green – C15 Cowbeech Road, Foul Mile, Cowbeech Road – C279 Rushlake Green, Rookery Lane – C16 Back Lane and vice versa. The Order commences 7 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 7 and 8 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2188 Black Hill/Church Hill, Crowborough)
(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Black Hill/Church Hill – from the junction with U7848 Whitehouse Lane to the junction with B2026 High Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via B2188 Lye Green Road, Plumyfeather Lane, Cherry Gardens Hill, Hendal Hill – B2110 Withyham Road, Castlefields, High Street – B2026 Jib Jacks Hill, Cotchford Hill, Chuck Hatch Road, High Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 15 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (B2123 The Drove, Village Way, Ridge Road, Park Street, Park Street North, South Street, East Street, Middle Street and Mill Street, Falmer)
(Prohibition of Waiting and Prohibition of Driving) Traffic Regulation Order 2013
The following additional/amended fixture times below will have the above Order restrictions imposed on the roads as listed from 4 hours before the commencement of the event held at The American Express Community Stadium until up to 2 hours after the event has finished;
Park Street, South Street, East Street (Falmer Village South) in their entirety; Mill Street, Park Street North, Middle Street (Falmer Village North) in their entirety; and Ridge Road (Falmer Village North) from its junction with Middle Street in a northerly direction for a distance of 120 metres to its junction with Mill Street.

The East Sussex (Lewes Bonfire)
(Special Event) Order 2024
To facilitate the holding of the Lewes Bonfire celebrations, to reduce the disruption to traffic likely to be caused by the event and for the expediency and safety of the participants, the travelling public and other highway users, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 16A to C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily impose restrictions in Lewes and the surrounding area in the following lengths of road:-
Temporary Road Closures from 17.00hrs on 5 November to 01.00hrs on 6 November 2024
A275 (A277) Brighton Road – from the junction of A27(T) (Ashcombe roundabout) extending northwards via A275 Nevill Road to B2116 Plumpton Road, Offham.
Diversion via A275 – A272 – A22 – A27(T) and vice versa.
U5065 Southerham Lane – from the junction of A27(T) to A26, Cliffe Industrial Estate.
Diversion via A27 – A22 – B2192.
C7 Kingston Road – at the C324 Wellgreen Lane junction.
Diversion via C324 Wellgreen Lane to the A27(T) Ashcombe roundabout and vice versa.
U5012 Hamsey Lane – at the junction of A275.
Diversion via A275.
Temporary Prohibition of Waiting (Including verges and footways) from 12.00hrs on 5 November to 02.00hrs on 6 November 2024
A26 – from the A27 Southerham roundabout, northwards including the Cuilfail Tunnel to the junction with C112 Ham Lane encompassing the existing permanent prohibition of waiting order located on Malling Hill. Including the A26 lay-bys.
B2192 – from its junction with A26 Earwig Corner to its junction with C113 New Road.
C7 – from the C324 Wellgreen Lane junction northwards to the junction with the A277 at the Prison crossroads including Bell Lane and Winterbourne Hollow, encompassing the permanent prohibition of waiting orders located on Southover High Street and Bell Lane.
C324 Ashcombe Lane & Wellgreen Lane – from the junction with the Ashcombe roundabout (A27) to the junction with the C7.
A275 – from the A27 Ashcombe roundabout to the junction with the A277 at the Prison crossroads extending northwards on the A275 to the junction with the B2116 Plumpton Road, Offham encompassing the permanent prohibition of waiting located on the A275 (A277) Brighton Road and the A275 Nevill Road, including bays on Nevill Road.
U5137 Brooks Road, South Downs Road, Mayhew Way and Church Lane – from the junction of the Phoenix Causeway to the junction with Malling Down, encompassing the permanent prohibition of waiting on these roads. U5065 Southerham Lane – from the junction with the A27(T) to the pinch point outside Unit 24, Cliffe Industrial Estate.
The temporary prohibition of waiting restriction and temporary road closure restriction will include the roads and their junctions off the A26 between A27 Southerham roundabout to the junction with B2192 Earwig Corner, including the junctions with U5137 Church Street, U5135 Mill Road, U5134 Spences Lane, U5134 Orchard Lane, U5136 The Spinneys, U5164 Wheatsheaf Gardens, U5138 Daveys Lane, U5139 Thomas Street, U5160 Cliffe Industrial Estate and U5143 South Street.
Temporary Prohibition of Loading and Unloading & Parking (including prohibition of disabled parking) from 12.00hrs on 5 November to 02.00hrs on 6 November 2024 in the roads listed below. Parked vehicles may be removed.

The Order will be in force from 12.00hrs on 5 November until 02.00hrs on 6 November 2024.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times, unless otherwise directed by the police for operational reasons. Vehicular access will be at the discretion of Sussex Police e.g. care workers medical, social services and pre-identified BSG members.
