The East Sussex

(Public Footpath Hastings 145 (part))

(Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023

To protect public safety during a housing development, the Secretary of State has extended the above East Sussex County Council’s Order made on 10 February 2023 under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following footpath:

Temporary Footpath Closure

Part of Public Footpath Hastings 145 will be closed to all users between TQ 8019 1300 (The Ridge) and TQ 8010 1277 (by Welton Rise) for a distance of 285 metres. Unfortunately, an alternative route is not available.

The closure will be in force for 12 months from 21 October 2024, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier, which after this period will require an extension from the Secretary of State, should the footpath still be unavailable to use.

The East Sussex (Footway at U3190 Wellington Square to U3189 Castle Hill Passage)

(Temporary Footway Closure) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of footway;

Temporary Footway Closure – from the junction with U3190 Wellington Square to the junction with U3189 Castle Hill Passage.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 8 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6971 Eight Acre Lane, Guestling)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Eight Acre Lane – from the junction with C22 Butchers Lane to the junction with C638 Rock Lane. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C22 Butchers Lane – C638 Rock Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 6 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C96 Netherfield Hill, Netherfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Netherfield Hill – from the junction with U6624 Eatenden Lane to the junction with C96 Netherfield Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C96 Netherfield Road – A2100 London Road, Ten Sixty Six roundabout – A271 North Trade Road – B2096 Kane Hythe Road – C96 Netherfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 4 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow SGN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mann Street – from the junction with U3183 Earl Street to the junction with U3169 South Terrace. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U3183 Earl Street, Brook Street, Cornwallis Street – A2101 Queens Road – U3169 South Terrace.

The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 8 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow Southern Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Briers Avenue – from the junction with A21 Sedlescombe Road North to the junction with U3040 Briers Gardens.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A21 Sedlescombe Road North – A2101 St Helens Road – U3040 King Edward Avenue, Madeira Drive, Briers Avenue and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 8 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Oxenbridge Lane – from the junction with A265

High Street to the junction with U6198 Fontridge Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6198 Fontridge Lane, Perrymans Lane – C212 Kings Hill Road, School Hill – A265 High Street, Etchingham Road, Straight Mile, High Street and vice versa.

The Order commences 4 November 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 4 and 6 November 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Birkdale – from the junction with U6522 Collington Lane West to the junction with U6528 Grenada Close.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U6527 Birkdale – B2182 Cooden Sea Road, Cooden Drive – U6536 Westcourt Drive – U6534 Collington Avenue – U6527 Birkdale and vice versa.

The Order commences 23 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 23 and 25 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6433 The Grove/Rope Walk, Rye)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow Centurion Traffic Management to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

The Grove/Rope Walk – for approximately 30 metres at the level crossing.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic northbound via U6433 The Grove, Deadmans Lane – A268 Rye Hill, Fishmarket Road – A259(T) Fishmarket roundabout, Fishmarket Road, South Undercliff, Strand Quay, Wish Street roundabout – A268 Wish Street, Ferry Road, Station Approach, Cinque Ports Street – U6433 Rope Walk and southbound via U6433 Rope Walk – A268 Tower Street, Landgate, Rye Hill – U6433 Deadmans Lane, The Grove.

The Order commences 19 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on two days between 19 and 21 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U6629 Parsonage Lane/C22 Wheel Lane, Westfield)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Parsonage Lane – from the junction with C22 Wheel Lane to the junction with U6629 Moat Lane.

Diversion via U6629 Moat Lane – A21(T) Ebdens Hill – A28 Westfield Lane, Church Lane – C22 Wheel Lane and vice versa.

Wheel Lane – from the junction with U6976 Vicarage Lane to the junction with U6955 Sprays Lane.

Diversion via C22 Harts Green, Cottage Lane, Chapel Hill – B2244 Tollgate Road – A21(T) New Road, Whydown Hill, Kent Street, Ebdens Hill – A28 Westfield Lane, Church Lane – C22 Wheel Lane and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commenced 29 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 and 31 October 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U6589 Gunters Lane & U6586 West Down Road, Bexhill)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following lengths of road;

Temporary Road Closures

Gunters Lane – from the junction with U6586 West Down Road to the junction with U6592 Glenleigh Park Road.

Diversion via U6586 West Down Road – U6582 Broadoak Lane – U6732 Summer Hill Road – U6576 Ellerslie Lane – C346 Turkey Road – U6589 Gunters Lane and vice versa.

West Down Road – from the junction with U6589 Gunters Lane to the junction with U6586 Quebec Close.

Diversions northbound via U6589 Gunters Lane – C346 Turkey Road – U6576 Ellerslie Lane – U6732 Summer Hill Road – U6582 Broadoak Lane – U6586 West Down Road and vice versa; or westbound via U6582 Broadoak Lane – U6732 Summer Hill Road – U6576 Ellerslie Lane – U6744 Broadoak Lane – U6737 Deerswood Lane – U6744 Broadoak Lane – A259(T) Little Common Road – U6586 West Down Road and vice versa; or eastbound via U6745 Woodsgate Park – U6588 Down Road – A259(T) Little Common Road – U6586 West Down Road and vice versa.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic as set out above.

The Order commences 21 October 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 21 October and 16 December 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.
