Toogood Lane - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

(C176 TOOGOOD LANE, WRIGHTINGTON, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle, cycle or pedestrian to proceed over that length of C176 Toogood Lane, Wrightington from the Northern boundary of property number 39 to the Southern boundary of property number 40.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Saturday 12th October 2024 until 1700 hours on Sunday 13th October 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained by means of a pedestrian walkway.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
C176 Courage Low Lane, Wrightington – C176 Moss Lane, Wrightington – A5209 Crow Orchard Road – B5250 Mossy Lea Road, Wrightington – B5250 Wood Lane, Wrightington (into Chorley Borough) – B5250 Wood Lane, Heskin – B5250 Langton Brow, Eccleston – B5250 The Green, Eccleston – C176 Bannister Lane, Eccleston – C176 Bannister Green, Eccleston – C176 Bannister Green, Heskin – C176 Barmskin Lane, Heskin (into West Lancashire Borough) – C176 Smithy Brow, Wrightington and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow water connection replacement works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of United Utilities.
