St James's Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic
What is happening?

QUEENS LANCASHIRE WAY AND ST JAMES STREET, BURNLEY BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any class of vehicle to proceed over that length of Queens Lancashire Way and St James Street, Burnley from its junction with Calder Street to its junction with Queens Lancashire Way for 10 metres in a southerly direction
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 21:00 hours on Wednesday 6th November 2024 until 06:00 hours on Thursday 7th November 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Pedestrian access to premises on or adjacent to the road will not be
prohibited by any provision of this order.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
One-way diversion from Burnham Gate - Queens Lancashire Way - Hammerton Street - St James Street.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow cabling works and access to manholes undertaken by Sunbelt Rentals on behalf of Openreach.
