TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF DRIVING ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that on 17/10/2024 Sth Tyneside Council made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit driving on the following sections of road:- Monkton Ln, Jarrow, from its junction with Campbell Park Rd easterly to opposite 124 Monkton Ln a distance of 95m. The Order is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, and in particular to enable Sth Tyneside Council to resurface the highway. The Order will come into force on 7/10/2024. The maximum duration of the prohibition under this Order will be 18 mths however it is anticipated that the prohibition will only be needed from 20/10/2024 for 8 days. The closures will be in place on Sunday 20/10/2024 and Sunday 27/10/2024. All vehicles except those engaged in the works, will be prohibited on the road described above for the duration of the works. The prohibition shall only apply at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. During the prohibition, the
alternative route will be via Campbell Park Rd, Victoria Rd East, Park Rd, Surrey St, Bede Burn Rd, Wood Terrace, Monkton Ln.
