Alfreton Road - Temporary Prohibition of Driving For Carriageway Resurfacing Works
What is happening?

(Alfreton Road, Selston) (Temporary Prohibition Of Driving) Order 2024 (A24-114)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in respect of roads at Selston in the District of Ashfield. The effects of the Order will be :
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the following length of road:
a. Alfreton Road, Selston - From its junction with Lindley Street, for a distance of 430 metres in a North Westerly direction.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting loading and unloading (Both Sides) (At Any Time) in the following length of road:
a. Alfreton Road, Selston - From its junction with Lindley Street, for a distance of 430 metres in a North Westerly direction.
3. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily suspended as required.
4. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above road or roads will apply as follows : From 09:00 Hours, Sunday 27th October 2024 Until 06:00 Hours, Saturday 2nd November 2024
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available will be:
a. B600 Nottingham Road - B6018 Mansfield Road - Commonside - Church Lane and Vice Versa The Order will come into force on Sunday 27th October 2024 and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the works are completed (within a maximum period of 18 months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out Carriageway Resurfacing Works.
