What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: A) C86 (Part), Grittleton; from its junction with C72 to its junction with UC 858101 to enable Openreach to carry out safe access works and other associated works. Alternative route via C86 (unaffected length) - C27 - C1 - C33 - C72 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 11 November 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic: B) Burdett Street (Part), Ramsbury; from its junction with Back Lane for a distance of approximately 50m in a southerly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out new connection and associated maintenance works. Alternative route via Burdett Street (unaffected length) - High Street - The Square - Back Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 for 5 days. C) Hilldrop Lane (Part), Ramsbury; from its junction with Whites Hill to its junction with Langfields to enable Openreach to carry out access to underground chamber to clear network for silt and associated maintenance works. Alternative route via Hilldrop Lane (unaffected length) - Stock Lane - Whites Hill and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2024 and the closure will be required between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. For further information please contact Openreach. D) Kings Wall (Part), Malmesbury; from its junction with B4042 to its property known as No.07 Kings Wall to enable Wessex Water to carry out supply separation works and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2024 and the closure will be required for 3 days. E) St Johns Street (Part), Devizes; from outside its property known as No.28 St Johns Street to outside its property known as No.19 St Johns Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out works to erect scaffolding to facilitate the Devizes Town Hall roof replacement and other associated works. Alternative route via St Johns Street (unaffected length). This Order will come into operation on 21 October 2024 and the closure will be required until 21 January 2025. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0100. Orders A) to E) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

2. THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (C111 AND C132, FOXHAM, BREMHILL) (40MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that on 9 October 2024 Wiltshire Council made the above mentioned Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to revoke The County of Wiltshire (Various Roads, Foxham in the Parish of Bremhill) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 1999 and re-enact it, in part, in the above Order 2 and to introduce a 30mph speed limit on C118m, Foxham, Bremhill - from its junction with C118 to a point 323 metres east of that junction; C118, Foxham, Bremhill - from a point 90 metres south west of its junction with C111 to a point 720 metres north west of that junction.

A copy of the Orders can be obtained via email request to TrafficOrders@wiltshire.gov.uk. Any person aggrieved by the Orders and desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in the Orders on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the above Act or on the grounds that any requirement of that Section or of Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act or any regulation made under the said Schedule, has not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. The Orders will come into operation on 21 October 2024.
