What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Meadowview Road (D2287) West Ewell and West Street (D2441) Ewell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 16 October 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Meadowview Road (D2287) West Ewell as extends from its junction with (B2200) Chessington Road to a point in line with the common boundary between No.6 and No.8 Meadowview Road. Alternative Route: (B2200) Chessington Road, Green Lanes, Eastcroft Road, and Meadowview Road, or this route in reverse; (b) West Street (D2441) Ewell as extends from its junction with (B2200) High Street to its junction with the access to the property known as "Ewell Grove Court". Alternative Route: (B2200) High Street, (C254) High Street, Epsom Road, The Kingsway, The Rise, and West Street, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of SES Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, Part (a) between the hours of 8am and 5pm; Part (b) between the hours of 7.30am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. For parts (a) and (b); Access for pedestrians, dismounted cyclists, and dismounted equestrians will be maintained at all times. It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion routes. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Old Malden Lane (B284) Worcester Park

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 On 16 October 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Old Malden Lane (B284) Worcester Park as extends from its junction with (X6166) Gunpowder Road to its junction (D2027) Barrow Hill. Alternative Route: (B284) Old Morden Lane, Cromwell Road, Grafton Road, The Avenue, (A2043) Malden Road, and (B284) Church Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate overhead and underground utility works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 October 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

D2339 Poole Road, West Ewell

Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024 Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of D2339 Poole Road, West Ewell. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate patching works and/or major maintenance works which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 5 November 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. Alternative Route - D2374 Scotts Farm Road, B284 Ruxley Lane, B284 Chessington Road, B2200 Chessington Road and D2204 Heatherside Road.
