What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL

(B5278, HOLKER, C5022, HAWKSHEAD AND RED BANK ROAD, GRASMERE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:

1. B5278, Holker, from its junction with the U5156, extending in a south easterly direction for a distance of approx 280 m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the B5278, B5277, Flookburgh Road, Holme Lane, Allithwaite Road, Kents Bank Road, Park Road, The Esplanade, Main Street, Lindale Road, Grange Road, Kendal Road and the A590.

Duration: From 6th November 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/12184)

2. C5022, Hawkshead, from its junction with the C5026, extending in a predominantly south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 200 m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C5022, A5092, A590, C5026, C5027, B5285 and the C5026.

Duration: From 18th November 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/12135)

3. Red Bank Road, Grasmere, from its junction with Langdale Road, extending in a south westerly direction for a distance of approx. 200 m.

Alternative Route for West Bound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Red Bank Road (U5523), Church Bridge, Stock Lane (B5287), A591, Rydal Road, Market Place, Lake Road, Wansfell Road, Borrans Road (A5075), A593, Ellers Brow and the U5524.

Alternative Route for North East Bound Traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Red Bank Road (U5523), U5524, Ellers Brow, A593, Rothay Road, Compston Road, Rydal Road, A591, Stock Lane (B5287) and Church Bridge.

Duration: From 20th November 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref: TTROW/12151)

The Order will come into operation on 6th November 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
