What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Boreham Road, Great Leighs) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : To temporarily close that length of Boreham Road, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 85m south east of its junction with Mill Lane for a distance of approximately 80m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th November 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFNR0M4TPTSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole testing works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Boreham Road, Main Road, Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout South, Great Leighs Bypass, Braintree Road, Essex Regiment Way, Wheelers Farm Roundabout, Wheelers Hill, Drakes Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 24th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Noakes Lane, Great Leighs) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : To temporarily close that length of Noakes Lane, Great Leighs in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 275m north east of its junction with Boreham Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 11th November 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC411SA002WD5MTP6J – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Noakes Lane, Noakes Farm Road, Rolls Farm Lane, Terling Hall Road, Church Road, The Street, Owls Hill, Braintree Road, Fuller Street, Boreham Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 24th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(The Ridge, Little Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : To temporarily close that length of The Ridge, Little Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Spring Elms Lane to its junction with Riffhams Chase a distance of approximately 460m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th November 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2363626 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Spring Elms Lane, Little Baddow Road, Church Hill, Herbage Park Road, Old London Road, London Road, Maldon Road, Little Baddow Road, The Ridge and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 24th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(The Spires, Great Baddow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : To temporarily close that length of The Spires, Great Baddow in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 65m south east of its junction with Vicarage Lane for a distance of a approximately 25m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th November 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEA13977771 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new customer connection works are undertaken by Openreach.

(School Road, Felsted/Rayne) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : To temporarily close that length of School Road, Felsted/Rayne in the District of Braintree and District of Uttlesford, from the junction of Mill Lane to the junction of Bartholomew Green Lane a distance of approximately 450m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 29th October 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2368737/EP201EH2368737A – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while verge marker installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Bartholomew Green Road, Main Road, Moulsham Hall Lane, Great Leighs Bypass Roundabout, London Road Roundabout, Garden Village Way, Garden Village Way Roundabout Cuckoo Way, Garden Village Way Roundabout At Business Park, Business Park Link, Business Park Road Roundabout, Avenue East, Queenborough Lane Roundabout, Queenborough Lane, Braintree Green, New Road, School Road, School Lane and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 10th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(St Johns Road, Writtle) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : To temporarily close that length of St Johns Road, Writtle in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with The Green for a distance of approximately 300m in an easterly then south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th October 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2350967 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching (MEML 24/25) works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via St Johns Green, Bridge Street, The Green and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 10th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.2) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order : 1. To temporarily close those various lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford, as detailed in the Schedule. The works are scheduled to commence after 10th October 2024, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while duct laying works are undertaken by Gigaclear.
