Craiglockhart & Slateford Area - Temporary Road Restrictions

(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024 – TEMP/24/189

The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe working area for SGN mains replacement works, no person shall:

(a) drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on Craiglockhart Ave, from the south-eastern kerbline of Lanark Rd/Slateford Rd, south-eastwards to the north-western kerbline of Colinton Rd, otherwise than in a sth-eastbound direction;

(b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on: (1) both sides of: (i) Lanark Rd, from the north-eastern kerbline of Inglis Green Rd, north-eastwards to the southern kerbline of Craiglockhart Ave; (ii) Slateford Rd, from the southern kerbline of Allan Park Rd, south-westwards to the northern kerbline of Craiglockhart Ave; (iii) Craiglockhart Ave, from the south-eastern kerbline of Lanark Rd/Slateford Rd, south-eastwards to the northwestern kerbline of Colinton Rd; & (iv) Glenlockhart Rd, from the south-eastern kerbline of Colinton Rd, south-eastwards for 75m; & (2) east/nth-east side of Colinton Rd, from the northern kerbline of Craiglockhart Park, generally northwards to the north-eastern kerbline of Craiglockhart Rd Nth; &

(c) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the road specified in column 1 so as to make the prohibited turn specified in column 2, into the road specified in column 3 of Sch 1.

Existing restrictions will be suspended on any of the affected sections of roads described in (b). The Greenways Order 1997 will be suspended in so far as the no stopping restrictions on Lanark Rd & Slateford Rd are affected by this order. The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Colinton Rd, Polwarth Ter, Ashley Ter, Shandon Pl & Slateford Rd. The order shall have effect from 21/10/24 to 31/3/25.
