Reading - Multiple Temporary Road Restrictions due to Works
What is happening?

(OXFORD ROAD)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend the parking bays and impose a no waiting and/or loading at any time restriction outside numbers 82-92 Oxford Road. The Order will come into force from 21-23 October 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate ducting works.
(REDLANDS ROAD)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024
Reading Borough Council has made an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily suspend parking and impose a no waiting and/or loading at any time restriction along Redlands Road from its junction with Addington Road and Elmhurst Road. The Order will come into force between 08:00-17:00 hours from 18 October - 01 November 2024. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions will remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. The Order is necessary to facilitate footway preservation works.
(HAMILTON ROAD)
(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2024
Reading Borough Council intends to make an Order in accordance with section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to temporarily implement the following restrictions in the lengths of roads listed below:
Phase 1: 4 November to 17 November 2024
• Suspension of parking bays outside 3 Hamilton Road to 15 Hamilton Road;
• Suspension of double yellow lines from the junction of Wokingham Road to opposite 15 Hamilton Road;
• Temporary introduction of a no stopping or waiting or loading at any time restriction from Wokingham Road to outside and opposite 15 Hamilton Road, except for contractors or utility vehicles; and
• Northbound road closure along Hamilton Road from Crescent Road to Wokingham Road between 4 November to 18 December 2024 and reintroduced on 6 January 2025 to 2 February 2025.
Phase 2: 18 November to 1 December 2024
• Suspension of parking bays outside 19 Hamilton Road to outside 27 Hamilton Road;
• Suspension of double yellow lines from opposite 19 Hamilton Road to opposite 27 Hamilton Road; and
• Temporary introduction of a no stopping or waiting or loading at any time restriction from outside and opposite 19 Hamilton Road to outside and opposite 27 Hamilton Road, except for contractors or utility vehicles.
Phase 3: 2 December to 15 December 2024
• Suspension of parking bays from 31a Hamilton Road to 43 Hamilton Road;
• Suspension of double yellow lines from opposite 31a Hamilton Road to opposite 43 Hamilton Road; and
• Temporary introduction of no stopping or waiting or loading at any time restriction outside and opposite 31a Hamilton Road to outside and opposite 43 Hamilton Road, except for contractors or utility vehicles.
Phase 4: 06 January to 19 January 2025
• Suspension of parking bays from 45 Hamilton Road to opposite 82 Hamilton Road;
• Suspension of double yellow lines from opposite 45 Hamilton Road to opposite 82 Hamilton Road;
• Temporary introduction of no stopping or waiting or loading at any time restriction from outside and opposite 45 Hamilton Road to outside and opposite, except for contractors or utility vehicles,
If made, the Order will come into force from the dates listed above. Should the works take longer than expected the restrictions wil remain in force until the works are completed with a maximum order duration of 18 months. These measures will be implemented when indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 using rolling road closures. The Order is necessary to facilitate gas mains renewal works.
A signed diversion route will be in place.
