Cow Lane and Craven Street - Prohibition of Waiting and No Stopping at Any Time

What is happening?

The Council of the City of Salford has made the Salford City Council (Cow Lane and Craven Street Salford) (Prohibition of Waiting And No Stopping at any time) Temporary Traffic Order 2024 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Order will introduce:

No Waiting at any time on the following roads:

Cow Lane: (i) North-east side, from its junction with Muslin Street to its junction with Oldfield Road, (ii) South-west side, from its junction with Muslin Street for a distance of 9.3m in an easterly direction, (iii) South-west side, from a point 23.3m east of the easterly projected kerbline of Muslin Street, to its junction with Oldfield Road.

Craven Street: (i) North-west side, from its junction with Cow Lane, to a point 4.6m north-east of the northerly projected kerbline of Liverpool Street, (ii) South-east side, from its junction with Cow Lane, for a distance of 5m in a southerly direction.

No stopping At Any Time: Craven Street: From the north-easterly projected kerbline of Liverpool Street, for a distance of 4.6m in a northeasterly direction.

The Order is required to address indiscriminate footway parking issues along Cow Lane and Craven Street which are causing a road safety hazard to pedestrians, as well as restricting access for the businesses and residents to the private car parks in this area. The Order is due to come into operation on the 21st of October 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the danger to the public from parked vehicles is removed.

A copy of the proposed Order and plan of the area may be examined at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm inclusive.
