What is happening?

C421 PRUDHOE STREET ALNWICK
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of the C421 Prudhoe Street Alnwick from its junction with Grey Place heading westwards for a distance of 25 metres in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 21st October 2024 until the 8th November 2024.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 21st October 2024 until the 25th October 2024 between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 8th November 2024.
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the C421, the B6346, the C422, the B6341 and vice-versa and should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly

The closure has been requested by Northumbrian Water , because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road, namely to excavate to carry out sewer repair works and reinstate. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
